Accountability

Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Group Management System Procedures.

Review business development plans; commercial policies and strategies and recommend to the Head of Business Development any changes considered necessary.

Periodically review the above procedures to ensure their effectiveness and where required, to propose amendments and ensure their implementation.

Liaise with the Commercial Department and other departmental managers as appropriate in the formation of business development plans and participate in their implementation, as required.

Maintain regular client contact against an agreed marketing plan to acquire the information necessary to identify new opportunities/countries and formulate the company’s commercial strategy for specific projects/clients.

Identify in advance of the issue of prequalification or tender enquiries, commercial opportunities for the group both within and outside existing areas of operation.

Maintain up to date information on competitor analysis (rig fleet, contract awards, and day rates) and other information on major projects, existing and potential clients, fabricators, equipment suppliers etc.

Monitor and report on specific projects/opportunities as designated by the Head of Business Development.

Prepare client contact reports and business case reports for major opportunities.

Input client contact details and contact reports to the client relationship management (CRM) system.

To contribute to tender kick-off meetings and participate in rate review discussions. When required to assist Commercial Manager(s) in the preparation of tender submissions.

Performance Measures

Achieve and exceed business budgets/targets as prescribed by the Senior Manager(s).

Ensure development of relationships with new contacts every month.

Ensure periodic and adequate market coverage with threshold visits per month.

Participate in the appropriate weekly conference calls and contribute input to the monthly Business Development and Commercial Report.

View and review ongoing activities and progress.

Ensuring key performance parameters of oil & gas (offshore/onshore) projects are met.

Understand and analyze the dynamics of Indian oil & gas sector.

Identify changes in petroleum exploration and production after New Exploration Licensing Policy.

Reviewing exploration programmes for adequacy, development plans of commercial discoveries and reassessment of hydrocarbon reserves.

Analyzing offered acreage for exploration to companies, as well as matters related to relinquishment of acreage for relevant exploration and optimal exploitation of oil and gas.

Analyze various reports such as IBEF, IMaCS, IEA, EIA, OPEC etc and drive useful and insightful analysis across various geographical regions.

Establish analytics infrastructure and conduct macro analysis, including the assessment of upstream sector expansion and implications for the future of the industry. In some cases, conduct issue based analysis, including monitoring all sedimentary basin data, maintaining databases and run cuts.

Provide analytical support for risk management activity by providing market forecasts and analysis.

Continually solicit requests for ad hoc analysis.
