Experience
Strength & Conditioning Coach
CrossFit La Verne February 2008- Present
• Develop and implement strength & conditioning programs for clients ranging from 13-55+ years of age.
• Formulate and implement weight strength programs for clients based on their goals, previous background, and current physical abilities.
• Developed our youth fitness program in 2009, which has grown into a multi-group class program that has facilitated numerous athletes to several Division I, II (NAIA) and III colleges around the nation in various sports.
• Manage the evening group classes, one-on-one training, and introduction program which transitions our new members into our group class program.
• Coach group sessions routinely with up to 10-15 athletes at a time that consist of various age groups and abilities.
• Have successfully coached clients to reaching their goals, including but not limited to: reaching weight loss goals, completing sprint triathlons, half and full marathons, mud runs, powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting competitions, as well as specialty competitions such as mud runs and CrossFit competitions.
• Provide one on one consultations for each athlete regarding goal setting, nutrition, and program design. Utilize multiple strategies for following up with clients to ensure goals are reached and progress is being met.
• Provide monthly lectures on topics such as, but not limited to: Weightlifting for fitness and metabolic conditioning, training for real world fitness, injury prevention, increasing mobility, setting goals, and nutrition management.
• Develop budget inputs for use in forecasting and overseeing the financial aspect of the fitness program (e.g. membership fees, purchasing of equipment, materials, and supplies).
Manager of Employee Health & Infection Prevention
Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. December 2010- Present
• Educate hospital staff at multiple medical centers on how to prevent and minimize hospital-associated infections. Tasks include creating educational videos, providing in-services, and creating handouts and presentations for hospital staff.
• Responsible for managing the rate of health associated infections within Prime Healthcare hospitals by coordinating with medical staff, nursing administration and patient care providers. Tasks include reviewing data regarding infections, reviewing and approval of risk identification reports, review patient records to develop understanding of potential infection sources and place of origin, and make recommendations to infection control team and management.
• Developed and instituted hand hygiene programs amongst our Prime Healthcare Hospitals Infection Prevention programs, which in turn increased the rate of hand hygiene amongst hospital staff – ultimately reducing the rate of hospital acquired infections for 2011 data reporting.
• Work closely with the California Department of Public Health to ensure accurate and up to date reports are provided regarding all hospital and non-hospital associated infections.
• Collaborated with the Orange County Health Department in coordinating our Community Flu Fair for 400 members of the surrounding community.
Health Education Coordinator
Montclair Hospital Medical Center October 2008-November 2010
• Developed webinars and in-house presentations for a diverse medical staff to promote overall personal health and wellbeing. Training courses included, but were not limited to the following: Balancing Nutrition, Health and Wellness; Smoking Cessation; and, Stress Management.
• Coordinated with hospital management to develop an understanding of areas of health education that would provide the best benefit to the hospital.
• Developed relationships with medical staff, including physicians, nurses, medical students and other personnel to provide one on one assistance with education needs.
Sports Performance Coach
Velocity Sports Performance August 2008-January 2009
• Trained a variety of athletes ranging from high school to collegiate athletics.
• Our program was contracted out by Mater Dei high school where I was in charge of training boys wrestling, women’s soccer, and assisted in the boys football strength and conditioning programs.
• The strength & conditioning program revolved around dynamic warm-ups, speed training and movement development, strength sessions including Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting, as well as conditioning sessions largely based around interval training.
• Assisted in the Combine training program hosted at our facility for collegiate athletes preparing for the NFL draft.
• Maintained the gym floor before, during and after all group sessions.

Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology
California State Polytechnic University Pomona September 2006- March 2009
Obtained a B.S. in Kinesiology from Cal Poly Pomona with an emphasis in Exercise Science and Human Performance. Course work completed included but was not limited to the following: Exercise Physiology, Human Physiology, Nutrition, Exercise Metabolism, Human Anatomy, and Sports Medicine.
