My post involved training the junior transplant coordinators, clerking in and evaluating recipients & donors for renal transplantation, providing post transplantation care, induction & maintainance of immunosuppressive drugs and monitoring of their levels.

I was also involved in the management of patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.

I was 1st on-call on a 1:2 rota for patients admitted into the transplant center.

I also conducted ward rounds every day with SHO and three times a week with my supervising consultant with whom I was able to discuss on-going and future management plans.

I have assisted the following procedures under direct supervision- Kidney Transplantation.

I have learnt from the above posts the importance of team-working and the practice of prioritising care based on patient- needs.

I was also a Faculty Incharge for BITS- Pilani students who were doing their B.S. Physician Assistant Programme in MMM- Academy of Medical Sciences.

1. I was the principal staff member of NNOS, supervising the work of other staff members and responsible for the efficient functioning of NNOS. I report to the Chairman and keep the other Trustees informed on a regular basis.

2. I was responsible for deepening and widening NNOS’s involvement in several activities associated with deceased donor organ transplantation work in Tamil Nadu and India. Identifying and developing new areas of action. E.g., Donor Action Program, Certificate Course for Transplant Coordinators etc.

3. I was responsible for carrying out activities outsourced to NNOS by other organizations such as coordinating state level Cadaver Transplant Program, Clinical Research etc.,

4. I prepared project proposals for consideration of funding agencies such as ICMR, DST and take charge of implementing such projects as and when they are approved for funding.

5. I was responsible for IEC programs designed for increasing public awareness of organ donation, for raising the public profile of NNOS and for fund raising for NNOS activities.
