Manufacture Engineering

Mobius is a small startup medical company that is developing a mobile computed tomography scanner (CAT Scan). The company began concept development in early 2009 and hired me when they began manufacturing the first functional prototype in June of 2011.

Duties included:

Managing the company’s engineering change order process, collaboratively establishing MRP and PLM systems, training engineers and other personnel in proper use of the of these systems, training technicians in their respective duties, and resolving system level issues with inspections.

Bard Access Systems Salt Lake City, Utah (May 2008 to May 2010)

Mechanical Engineering (R&D)

BAS is a major division within CR Bard that generates a half a billion in revenue each year. Enteral feeding was a struggling product line with one engineer when I was brought onto the team. Over the next two years they added five additional engineers charged with revamping the entire product line.

Duties included:

Creating almost all in house tooling and fixtures for a new enteral feeding device, developing manufacturing processes, generating test protocols, instructing technicians in proper test execution, and ensuring product conformity.

Orbit Irrigation South Bountiful, Utah (May 2007 to May 2008)

Mechanical Engineering (Design)

Orbit develops residential irrigation products and is the third largest in the nation. With a primary goal of generating new products they brought me on to develop new concepts and designs.

Duties included:

Designing and modeling new products ideas, modifying current products, prototyping concepts, generating 2D drawings for manufacturing, and component material analysis.
