Low Density Polyethylene plant (LDPE)

Responsibilities include:

• Provide troubleshooting assistance, consultation and engineering support to operation and maintenance personnel on day-to-day operational problems.

• Provide engineering support to operation on process control issues.

• Optimize and improve two lines of production from the facilities including equipment upgrades and replacement.

• Meet daily production targets according to plan.

• Participate in process hazard analysis in multiples production lines, including PHA leader and project manager.

• Provided technical support for facility risk assessments as well as Management of Change process.

• Provided training to new employees on Low Density Polyethylene and hazards on high pressure process.

Project & Improvement Engineer June 2008 - December 2009

Responsibilities Included:

• Project management of capital improvement projects including: scope development, cost estimation, facility design, oversight of contract engineering and leading safety reviews.

• Worked closely with the operations and development teams to identify facility engineering projects.

• Worked closely with the projects group to ensure the operability of new projects and that they are completed safely, on time and on budget.

• Evaluating facility de-bottlenecking and other volume operating cost reduction opportunities.

• Provided support during project installation and startup.

• Devised new approaches to problems related to polymer blocks in the facility and processing based mainly on adaptations of or modification to Most Effective Technology.

KNOWLEDGE SKILL/ABILITIES

• Fluent in English/ Portuguese and Spanish

• Excellent trouble-shooting skills

• Experience with Six Sigma project methodologies DMAIC
