Worked in the melt shop as a chemical engineer/Metallurgist. My main task was a cost cutting and optimization project for an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) looking at ways to cut the amount of electricity used without compromising product quality. It involved collecting over 300 slag samples from the EAF and analyze them for chemistry make up, the rest was lots of data crunching to find correlations and determine the optimum operation variables .
