• Serves as an armed security officer ensuring adequate level of security for the situation/location to include Naval Sea Systems Command’s building 197. Serves as acting lieutenant supervisor ensuring officers maintain high security standards. Ensure security standards at the Washington Navy Yard by safeguarding the base against security threats while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Assist in the development of plans and procedures in the event of any major catastrophe through compliance with the Navy’s and the company’s safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Provides perimeter and interior patrols by monitoring facilities to ensure security breaches and suspicious activities are detected and reported in a timely manner. Ability to read and execute requirements of instructions to include, but not limited to, badge system and lock check requirements. Support the DoD lock program by ensuring locks is secured in accordance with DoD guidance. Execute nightly checks to ensure unoccupied sensitive spaces are secure.
