Dissertation focused on sociotechnical energy systems transition titled “Transdisciplinary Analysis of Just Transition Pathways to 100% Renewable Electricity in the U.S.”
University of Flensburg, Germany 2016 - 2017
Master of Engineering degree in Energy and Environmental Management. Thesis titled “Impact Assessment of Nigerian Private Sector Investment on Captive Power Generation from Solar PV-Diesel Hybrid System.”
University of Ibadan, Nigeria 2003 - 2008
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Production Engineering WORK EXPERIENCE
NYSERDA – CLCPA Fellow 2021- 2024
• Supported NYSERDA’s Policy, Research and Analysis (PAR) team in establishing its Engaged Social Science Research Program (E-SSRP) in the year 2022 and in the recruitment of research fellows, advisors, and stakeholders for the program’s projects. The E-SSRP was established to inform NYSERDA policy and program development with insights from engaged social science.
• Led the first pilot project of the E-SSRP focused on advancing democratic structures for community decision-making in place-based energy and climate investments.
• Supported the cap-and-invest outreach program, including convening stakeholder meetings, preparation and publishing of weekly reports, public comment review and synthesis as output for various webinars, workshops, and internal meetings for the cap and invest rule making processes.
• Supported the NYS CLCPA scoping plan and related processes including research on precedents for rapid, socio-technical transition across sectors that align with the scope and pace of transformation established in Climate Act Scoping Plan Integrated Analysis.
• Developed equity strategies for NYSERDA’s PAR team in collaboration. Led a series of internal interviews with staff on potentials and barriers to equity incorporation in past projects and development of strategies for equity incorporation in future projects.
• Supported Engagement with Disadvantaged Communities in coordination with Energy and Climate Equity (ECE) Team including researching precedents and developing a
conceptual framework for a potential community-based, multi- sector planning, research, and implementation program.
• Served as a co-lead for the People of Color Resource Group
(POC RG) for about two years. POC RG is one of the resource groups at NYSERDA that elevates the interest of their members to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in the organization.
• Assisted with public and internal sustainability goals, development of RFPs, RFQL, RFI, and other ad hoc requests to support achievement of NYS climate goals.
Havenergy Consulting 2021 - date
• Havenergy consulting received a $500,000 contract award from NYSERDA to provide technical support for the PAR team on GHGs mitigation, just transition to net zero, and climate and energy equity.
• Conducted and reported research for NYSERDA on
precedents for rapid, socio-technical transition across sectors that align with the scope and pace of transformation established in Climate Act Scoping Plan Integrated Analysis. This includes market analysis and trends for heat pumps, electric vehicles, and renewable energy technologies transition in Europe, America, and Asia.
• Carried out benchmark analysis of New York’s rapid transition plan against other key subnational, national, and global transition scenarios (e.g., Net-Zero America, International Energy Agency analysis)
• Reviewed NY Pathways Model developed by E3 using the Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP) to support in the decarbonization pathways analysis.
• Distributed Energy Systems (DER) Planning
o Standalone and grid connected hybrid systems
planning and design (including solar and battery
systems) for residential, commercial, and industrial clients
o Micro grid, mini grid and off grid 100% renewable energy project planning and modelling - systems
design, technical assessment, and socioeconomic
(economic and social) feasibility analysis
Green Home Institute – Member, Board of Directors 2021 - date
• Currently serving as Chair of the education committee of the institute in a (voluntary role). Provides strategies for wider coverage for GHI training and projects.

• Direct and assists the Executive Director in decision-making processes.
Michigan Technological University – Graduate TA/RA 2018 - 2021
• Supported a transdisciplinary research project of Michigan Community and Anishinaabe Renewable Energy Sovereignty
(MICARES), funded by National Science Foundation (NSF). Led discussions with community members, project partners, and stakeholders on strategies for socio-technical transition to renewable energy.
• Researched and analyzed energy policies with regards to indigenous communities in the U.S., drawing out useful applications important for the MICARES project.

• Worked with staff on energy modelling for rate design processes and integrated resource planning (IRP) of regulated utilities, using AURORA energy exemplar.
• Assisted commissioner advisors in researching and sorting case files, orders and issues for decision making.
• Participated and assisted in facilitating IRP public hearings for various Michigan regulated utilities.
Energy Consultant to Durness, Scotland 2019 - 2017
• Participated in a six-month onsite mini grid distributed community energy research and planning project on
affordable heating with 100kW micro hydropower and 500 kW wind energy for Durness community in Scotland. The project was in collaboration of Community Energy Scotland, Europa University Flensburg and Durness Development Group.
• I led the hydro team in micro hydro power resource assessment, modeling, and power generation analysis using HOMER Pro modeling software.
• I conducted interviews with community members to gather data and factor their interests, perspectives, and support into the community energy project.
• Collaborated with other research teams to determine technical and economic feasibility of the project.
• Prepared and presented final report at the end of the sixth month to the community members for project implementation. Acorn Petroleum Plc., Nigeria – Operations Supervisor 2013 - 2016
