Experience: Wal-Mart Asset Protection Investigator 4/2023- 3/2024 API’s have a supervisor role where safety is priority throughout the store. Ensuring the safety of customers and staff while protecting the assets of Wal-Mart. Task include but are not limited to.

• Initiate merchandise protection plans for all high theft items throughout store.

• Clerical work in office to keep it organized and safe to conduct apprehensions.

• CCTV knowledge is used to record and save footage of all events. Including accident claims in and around the store.

• Submit all evidence through the exporting system which the claim workers have access to. Follow through with evidence requested in emails regarding accidents.

• Train newly hired API’s, certify and re-certify all other asset protection staff monthly. Along with giving feedback to improve the functionality of their position.

• Investigate transactions through a system called Appriss. That includes manned transactions, self-checkout transactions, money center transactions, returns, exchanges, audits, cash registers long and shorts.

• Investigate cash handling and submit any concerns directly to the Lead and Coach in charge.

• Apprehend and trespass suspects at last point of sale only after following all 5 elements: Alert signal, selection, intent, continued possession and reaching last point of sale.

• Conduct safety tours for newly hired associates.

• Complete high-ticket audit by checking the manifest for the trailers dropped off weekly and follow up if needed.

• Assist law enforcement with any evidence we might be able to provide.

• Label all orders accurately in a timely manner.

• Assist with training new hires when asked to do so by supervisor.

• When items are missing, we must substitute with another item if required.
