At SMTB set into work the validation of reporting/monitoring of regulatory issues by the planning the audit of a 2nd LOD department.

At SMTB worked across multiple business risk areas such as Treasury front and back office, financial crime, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management areas including Business Continuity which involved auditing the progress of SMTB’s DORA compliance project as part of SMTB’s horizon scanning Risk Management Approach.

At all clients have worked collaboratively with other team members to further develop the Internal Audit function

At SMTB introduced a new method learned at Mazars which aided the stakeholder management process.

At SMTB introduced a 3-way match process to improve the completeness of audit coverage to ensure more accurate terms of reference (TORs) are delivered to clients and thus resulting in a more concise audit plan.

At MS Amlin undertook J-SOX reviews (in lead and supporting roles) across a range of business areas for Client’s entities, using in house software as well as external platforms that include Teammate and Xactitum

At MS Amlin contributed to the J-SOX compliance programme by performing controls testing, reviewing workpapers, validating J-SOX remediation plans, proposing control enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of controls and work collaboratively with the business in a timely manner

At MS Amlin drafted J-SOX findings to highlight areas of risk and failures in the JSOX control framework

Introduced the 5W and 1 H Aviva audit methodology to future clients (regarding a continuous improvement mindset) and was also able to demonstrate the effectiveness in using MS teams to document walkthroughs and testing

At the NHM developed the current Anti Bribery and Corruption (ABC) Policy, and developed delivered the training programs from both AML and ABC legislation

As the role within the NHM grew learned to become a “subject matter expertise” on a wide range of issues from counterfeiting, cyber security, health and safety, to project management.

Learned how to audit controls for an organisation that had multiple revenue streams as an educational space, event space, retailer of fast-moving consumer goods, as well as a scientific institution.

At Safran assessed the robustness of the processes in place through procedure checks, business interviews and formal testing of the key drivers of the business such as Sales, Purchase, Programs and Trade Compliance

At Safran this remit involved ensuring that due diligence procedures (KYC) for new customers and vendors were being followed to ensure the process of payments going into and out of business would meet regulatory scrutiny

This involved working remotely to execute the audit campaign with managers who were based in offsite in the premises of the parent company (France). And required me to developed with management how to present audit evidence without compromising commercial, and security sensitivities.

At Safran Improved the recording and logging of audit evidence, thus making it easier to be rolled forward when appropriate.

At MUM Developed the test plan for the new underwriting protocols as well as testing the accounting integrity of the new underwriting software and reporting the results to the IT manager.

At MUM Liaised with the Insurers who provided underwriting capacity, coverholders and third-party claims administrators, and co-ordinated financials activities with underwriters, brokers and claims handlers as part of the reconciliation process

At Langham Hall performed client risk assessments and due diligence for new and existing clients developing an understanding of the client's risk control framework, and working with them to improve their controls as part of the function of providing independent depositary oversight, which I would later use in auditing the set-up of new vendor and customer accounts

Performed high level analytical real time operational and financial audit reviews around all of a fund's events and processes as they pertain to investors identifying risks around the above processes and seeking to minimise risks to investors e.g. distributions, drawdowns and investor transfers, so as to ensure they are compliant with their limited partnership agreements
