APPLIED EXPERIENCE
SUNY Fredonia Houghton Hall started with $200,000 for overhead and profit with $0.00 for contingency, after my buyout I had $750,000 for overhead and profit and $150,000 in contingency.
Sleep Inn and Suites was completed 6 weeks prior to the contracted schedule date and was $320,000 under budget. The owner was so pleased with the project and its buyout that they gave Calamar an extra $120,000 above the signed contract cost as a bonus.
Fairway Pointe Sr Village was completed on schedule and was $260,000 under budget. The Chautauqua Institute was so impressed with the Senior Apartment building that I constructed that they contacted Calamar and asked if we would work with them to construct a Senior Apartment complex on the institute grounds and be co-owner of the building and manage it for them.
DePaul Assisted living was a Construction Management project for a 3rd party developer where I put the budget together for the project and was awarded the job which was completed for $200,000 under budget.
Amherst Glenn was a Construction Management project for a 3rd party developer where I put the budget together for this project and was awarded the job. This project was completed for $300,000 under budget.
Auburn Grove Sr Apartment was completed on schedule and was $220,000 under budget.
Sleep Inn, Monroe: I found a problem with the floor and roof truss dimensions after the Engineer’s approval andI had them revised prior to manufacturing which had tremendous savings for time and money.
Towneplace Suites: New Hartford: I realized that the architectural plans were in error for the demising/plumbing walls and had the guestroom kitchenette redesigned so the cabinets would fit. This was done before all of the cabinets and counter tops were ordered.
Auburn Grove Sr Apartment: The site had unsuitable soil conditions on a 30,000 yard cut and fill. Rather than import all the soil I had the site contractor aerate the soil so we could use it. What could have cost $500,000 was completed for $45,000.
