For the last 14 months, I have been at home taking care of my husband. Last June, my family and I were in a severe motor vehicle wreck. My husband was thrown out of our RV and sustained many injuries to the left side of his body including an above-the-knee amputation to his left leg, and severe blood-loss anemia. I have since been helping him recover, including medication management and administration, all ADLs, wound care (including wound vacs), household management, exercises, and driving him to and from numerous appointments and therapy. After many set backs and wins, I feel that we are finally at a place in his recovery, where I can confidently join the work force again. I am excitedly looking forward to the opportunities of working outside of the house and making my own money again. Am also leaning towards a career change. While I still love working with and helping people, I would like to switch out of direct patient care. L. P. N
