MILITARY WORK EXPERIENCE

United States Navy, San Diego, CA October 2013 – July 2017

Electrician’s Mate

Operated and maintained ship electrical equipment, including electrical power generation systems, lighting systems, electrical equipment, and electrical appliances. Inspected and tested equipment to locate damaged or worn parts and diagnosed malfunctions, and read work orders or schematic drawings to determine required repairs. Identified, repaired, and rebuilt defective mechanical parts in electric motors, generators, and related equipment, using hand tools and power tools. Well versed in Lockout / Tagout procedures.

●Hand selected to perform and update 1000’s of ship board light circuits to LED.

●Installed power and lighting circuits and repaired distribution circuits; ran wiring for lights and other equipment.

●Maintained operating efficiency of distribution panels, switches, switchboards, controllers, voltage regulators, current transformers, voltage transformers, and electric motors.

●Interpreted electrical sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.

●Performed motor rewinding and refurbishment on 300 LB / 440 V motors that burned out. Removed copper, winded the windings, replaced the windings, and lacquered the motor.
