Current Post
GP at Lido Medical Practice.
I currently work as a GP. I see a range of patients daily with issues ranging from chronic medical conditions to acute illnesses. I also undertake telephone consultations and deal with prescription requests remotely. As part of my role, I also provide health screening for patients which involves discussing medical histories, full examinations and performing extra tests such as blood tests. This helps to identify conditions that, if left untreated, could lead to more severe and complex conditions in the future. I find this aspect of my job particularly rewarding because prevention is beneficial to both the patient and society by reducing the impact and burden on the medical system.
In my previous role I took an active role in helping new doctors who joined the practice. I would facilitate their learning via observation and direct shadowing, helping them learn the protocols and systems employed by the practice. I was also part of the clinical innovations team which was formed during the pandemic. I came up with an idea which was implemented, successfully, which allowed us to perform remote medical screens and assess patients remotely during the height of the pandemic. These systems remain in place now.
