ACHIEVEMENTS
Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Project Manager - Komatsu PC5500-6E. Running the project worth $2.5million. This is a Planned Component Replacement project where my role is to ensure that all parts to be replaced and other materials to be used including consumables for the departments are readily available. Ensure that all personnel involved on the PCR work safely and comply to all the stipulated rules and regulations. Developed and implemented standard repair procedures to maintain the Komatsu PC5500-6E shovel to OEM required standard. Established a forty-member maintenance team among engineers, technicians, electricians, riggers, crane operators, scaffolders and technical specialists from Komatsu Mining Germany. Delegated scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs tasks to assigned technical leaders based on their team’s strength. Ensured world class overall equipment effectiveness and reliability levels achieved. Provided in-depth analysis of MRO projects culminating with lessons learned to integrate into future plans.
Acting as a Superintendent for Field Maintenance on Shovels and Drills.I achieved 100% availability of equipment and 100% Ore production and 100% waste production. This was achieved without any reported accidents and incidents. For me the safety of all employees and equipment was my primary goal, hence availability was high.
Acting as Coordinator for Field Maintenance on the Shovels and Drills.I ensured that all employees complied to all rules and regulations. This in turn helped me to reach out to other department in the promotion of safety at the work place and also promotion of OEM standards on all of our Equipment.
Working as a Technical Advisor was also one of my achievement in the sense that I had a chance to advise different crews on how to maintain good OEM standard on the equipment that everyone was working on and also highlight to everyone the importance of having our equipment to standard.
Carrying out a PCR on a Liebherr machine R9250C and a Komatsu PC5500-6E. Targets where set and I achieved this with the team I was working with before the set target hence it made me realise that maintainability, reliability and safety where cardinal. The machines run for six months without having any issues. Some of the tasks where replacement of the boom, stick, swing motors, swing gear cases and hydraulic pumps and PTO on all the machines.
Working as a breakdown Supervisor gave me and showed me a different view of on how to handle mean time to repair and and mean time to breakdowns, hence carrying out daily inspections and weekly online inspection was a way I suggested to management. This really brought a different challenge to all employees but it was accepted and we improved as a team interms of breakdowns. The quality of work performed on breakdowns improved drastically due to the fact that all employees understood the importance of carrying out daily inspection and downtime on equipment.
