Provided design for Engineering maintenance and CAPEX department

Elaborated 3D models and 2D drawings for machinery equipment assemblies, subassemblies and components.

Design activities includes machining detailed parts, fabrication and foundation documentation, schematics and general assemblies, together with equipment layout and site installation documentation.

Provided design support to maintenance department by developing reverse engineered documentation of failed/worn equipment, components and assemblies.

2003 – 2016 NATIONAL OILWELL VARCO - Sr. Mechanical Designer

Sr. Mechanical Design responsible for Top Drives & Power Swivels developing new components and improving existing equipment.

Elaborated complete documentation for different drilling equipment including Hydraulic and Electric Top Drives, Power Swivel, Pipe Handling Systems, Lubrication Systems and associated control system assemblies.

Provided documentation and coordinated all interface aspects related to equipment design, installation, commissioning and testing as well as transportation approval documentation.

Prepared 3D models and bills of materials for assemblies, subassemblies and components.

Performed selection calculations and specified commercial components as transmissions, gearboxes, pumps, belt driven systems, seals, hydraulic items as filters, strainers, isolation valves, pipes, and fittings together with related installation hardware.

Designed structure assemblies, frames and weldments details for different diesel and electric skids, different hydraulically and pneumatically driven power multidimensional tongs for casing and respectively for drilling pipe. Calculated assembly weights and associated center of gravity.

Designed special cast parts and machined parts including pneumatic and hydraulic components. Supervised execution of a wide range of mechanical parts: gears, shafts, cams, clutches, brakes, chain and belt driven transmissions, sprockets, sheaves and bushings.

Elaborated Drilling Control Systems complete design including Hydraulic Power Units, Hydraulic, Control Panels and associated rig installation interfaces.

Provided machine shop, welding shop and assembly shop support on daily basis during equipment execution. Responsible for engineering support for equipment assembly, tests including prototype qualification.

Coordinated equipment layouts and detailed fabrication documentation for Well Servicing Equipment.

Created complete documentation for Hydraulic Top Drives Retrofit Kits. Worked on product and parts standardization and parts optimization. Provided aftermarket and service support.

Machined parts forged and cast items, fabrication and weldments. Skids and Frames including detail girders and beams, structural joining and welding details. Thorough knowledge of the American (ASME, ANSI, API) and European (DIN, BS) standards and English/Metric measurement systems.
