Summary

I have professionally worked with the YMCA, RX crossroads, Hobby Lobby, Clothes Mentor, and Best Buy. I was in women's advanced and intermediate choirs in high school as well as Marine JROTC where I volunteered over 50 service hours. I was also a girl scout until high school. Through all of my service and experience, I have developed excellent people skills while discovering that I am capable of working well in high stress environments. I work well by myself, but even better as part of a team. It is my goal to contribute to society while creating a sustainable future for generations to come, both environmentally and professionally.

Employment History

Best Buy LLC

Customer Service Representative

Saint Matthews, Kentucky

March 2018 – February 2020

As a part-time retail employee for Best Buy, I work alongside my coworkers to build customer relationships, provide services that satisfy customer needs, and go above and beyond to assure that we help the customer to the best of our abilities. Our goal at Best Buy is to discover what is possible through training and in-depth customer interaction. We make our interactions human and aim to be the very best by setting goals both individually and broadly to improve customer and employee experiences.

Hobby Lobby

Sales Associate

Louisville, Kentucky

July 2016 – September 2018

I worked at Hobby Lobby as a sales associate, but being an artist gave me more of an advantage with product knowledge and in helping individuals problem solve their crafting goals. I was part of the team for almost two years because I enjoyed what I learned from that position. I knew quite a bit about the products there and I was acclimated to the environment, so I was able to assist the team with customer questions and alleviate some of the stress during holiday seasons. I understood customer concerns and questions from a personal perspective, which gave me an advantage in resolving customer escalations. My managers were sad to see me go, but I eventually outgrew the company due to insufficient pay.

Northeast Family YMCA

Group Leader

Louisville, Kentucky

December 2014 – October 2016

I thoroughly enjoyed working personally with each set of parents and the children that we watched over. I learned very useful skills at this job, including:

oral presentation - I gave group presentations and solo presentations that required me to take responsibility for myself and my time as well as that of others.

childcare – I cared for large groups of children which required much patience and nurturing ability

emotional sensitivity – I handled high risk situations with disabled children and helped to deescalate issues within the workplace environment.

meal preparation for large groups

remaining calm during emergencies – medical emergencies or missing child situations

activity planning – I developed weekly and monthly plans for each group that I worked with and helped manage the field trips
