Catching a Well Baby delivered via Normal Delivery (NSD), Ceasarian Deliver (CS) and Ceasarian Delivery Assisted Forcepts. The after care for the baby like cord care, vit.k administration and eye prophylaxis. Vital sign taking, metabolic screening/blood extraction and vaccination is also rendered. Lavage, gavage, Feeding(bottle,cup and tube), bathing, dressing and breast feeding assistance is also practiced during my work. Had a experience in Neonatal Intensive Care unit. I handled Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) also known as babies who are small in gestational dates, pre-term babies, babies that are Large for Gestational dates, distress babies, babies that are Jaundice and on single or double phototheraphy. Lastly, I am equipted with Immediate Life Support (ILS) that is usually needed in school clinics and hospitals. Handled cases of G6PD, anaphylaxis / allergies, asthma, eczema,diabetes (insulin&non-insulindependents), respiratory-infections,seizures,thalasemia, Gastritis, post operation care during in school, concussion, contusion, injuries, height – weight and vision monitoring, vaccination as per Ministry of Health Qatar and its programs for school.

EQUIPMENT HANDLED - ONE SUMMARY FROM ALL EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCES

Heart or cardiorespiratory monitor. This monitor displays a baby's heart and breathing rates and patterns on a screen. Wires from the monitor are attached to adhesive patches on the skin of the baby's chest, abdomen, and leg.

Radiant warmer / Incubators. Incubators and radiant warmers are used to maintain the body temperature of newborn infants.

Bilimeter. Measures the bilirubin level of an infant.

Infant weighing scale. Measures the baby’s weight.

Blood pressure monitor. Blood pressure is measured using a small cuff placed around the baby's upper arm or leg.

Thermometer. A temperature probe is placed on the baby's skin with an adhesive patch. Can beused in axilla, anal and tympanic.

Pulse oximeter. This machine measures the amount of oxygen in the baby's blood through the skin.

Transcutaneous oxygen/carbon dioxide monitor. This machine measures the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the baby's skin. A small circular pad is taped on the baby's skin. The pad warms a small area of skin underneath and measures oxygen, carbon dioxide, or both.

Ultrasound. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves and a computer to create images of blood vessels, tissues, and organs. Ultrasounds are used to view internal organs as they function, and to assess blood blow through various vessels.

X-rays. Are taken for many reasons including checking the placement of catheters and other tubes, looking for signs of lung problems, such as infant respiratory distress syndrome, and checking for signs of bowel problems.

Endotracheal tube (ET). This tube is placed through the baby's mouth or nose into the trachea (windpipe). The ET tube is held in place with special tape and connects to a mechanical ventilator (breathing machine) with flexible tubing.

Respirator or mechanical ventilator. This machine helps babies who can not breathe on their own or who need help taking bigger breaths.

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). Through small tubes that fit into the baby's nostrils, called nasal CPAP, this machine pushes a continuous flow of air or oxygen to the airways to help keep tiny air passages in the lungs open. CPAP may also be given through an ET tube.

Restraints - Manual and Mechanical Restraints - as needed - medical restraints is to prevent injuries due to falls or self harm / harm to others.

Big Fish knife. A safety knife used during Rescue. Also known as a anti ligature knife.

Emergency Bag – complete set of instruments for emergency cases

AED(automated external defibrillator) – trained and licensed to use during cardiac arrhythmias, pulseless ventricular tachycardia.

Humulin pen – Insulin pen used by students/patients who needs sugar corrections.

Glucometer - machine used to measure blood sugar.

Epinephrine pen – single dose of epinephrine used and given during severe allergies / anaphylaxis.

Anti convulsive/ seizure medications – given sublingual and in bucosal during seizures.

Oxygenation with different cannulas – given during oxygen levels are low.

Nebulizer - a drug delivery device used to administer medication in the form of a mist inhaled into the lungs. Nebulizers are commonly used for the treatment of asthma, cystic fibrosis, COPD and other respiratory diseases or disorders.
