My career summary

Good day,

My name is Chiquitta-Celene and I would like to share my personal and working experiences with you.

December 2013, I worked for Dialogic Management Services; this was a temporary position. It was extremely challenging as I was exposed to a fast pace environment. I was shown the importance of paying attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

January 2016, I applied for a position at Mighty Wings Life Centre as an Admin Assistant. Mighty Wings is a non-profit organization program for recovering addicts. This position was extremely rewarding as I grew stronger as a person and am now able to make mature decisions in various situations, as well as with my own choices. I also learnt the value of communication and the importance there of in all aspects of everyday life.

In June 2016, during my work experience at Might Wings, I studied further in obtaining my Au Pair Training Course. This course gave me the confidence to apply my knowledge and be able to provide effective and quality service for any family.

June 2017, I studied further and achieved my certification in Coaching and Counselling for Managers. I was extremely proud to have achieved my certification with a 90% average. It improved my self-confidence and self-discipline and I was able to feel the benefits of being independent. It helped me to better understand the working world and helped me overcome and understand the negatives and positives in different situations and the personal satisfaction of being able to achieve anything you put your mind to.

July 2017, I worked at Suburban Pets. This position helped me grow professionally and I was able to use my own initiative, take ownership and responsibility for my actions, multitask on different tasks at a time and dealt with different kinds of people personalities, which improved my people skills and communication ensuring all customers felt welcome and satisfied.

In the past 3 the years, I started off in a temporary position as Teachers Assistant at Live and Learn Academy 2018. In 2019 I studied full-time at Damelin to obtain my ECD NQ4/5 and in 2020 I officially became a Teacher. I proudly worked my way to a Teaching position and grew tremendously both personally and professionally. I gained more experience and knowledge as a teacher, practiced good time managing skills, working under pressure, and consistently adapting to a fast paced and changing environment.

I excitedly practiced and utilized my Computer Skills to create online activities and lessons for the relevant age groups and preformed general admin duties. My overall experience at Live and Learn Academy has taught me to take pride in my work, go the extra mile, be confident and strive for perfection even in the smallest of tasks.
