Description: vMECPlatform is redesigned to orchestrated on cloud, primary cloud platform targeted is NCIR (Nokia Cloud Infrastructure for Radio applications). And mainly L3 based user plane traffic break out to MEC applications. Location engine is designed in vMECPlatform which would send UE events to Location service it makes out useful information to MEC applications via Location Service API.

Description: Mobile edge computing system is redesigned to work on generic COTS IT hardware. Solution is redesigned to work on pure virtualized environment. A New light weight platform is designed with minimal functionalities for FCAPS, networking based on Centos 7.

Description: This project mainly concentrates on porting FBSA based RACS solution to cloud platform, cloud platform is Airframe hardware based MEC solution. This solution will mainly involve major changes in the area of application vm orchestration,

Modules Worked:

a.Application life cycle manager: Complete application orchestration logic is redesigned which involves ALCM interaction with many of the cloud services such as meta data service, keystone service, glance, cinder, neutron, nova and heat and HOT. This module is written in c language uses API’s from RCP(Radio cloud platform) for FCAPS aspects,, CURL wrapper for Restfull communication with cloud services, ALCM analyses cloud responses(Responses are in JSON format) and act accordingly. ALCM has the master logic of application orchestration, controlling the data traffic offload and its properties.

My main responsibilities:

1.I was involved in workflow from designing till release of the product.

2.Coding in C,Python, Writing unit, Module test cases

3.Distributing back logs to the team and reviewing the work

4.Debugging and solving technical challenges.

5.Training to the teams regarding design and workflow

6.Code review and guiding the SCM team

7.Involved in setting up of repository for the beginning of the project.

b.LWIP ( LTE and WIFI aggregation at IP): This module is mainly responsible for distributing or aggregating traffic from both LTE and WIFI at IP layer. MEC platform will get connected to LTE and WIFI (Multinode architecture of MEC). LWIP module basically located in LTE node where in UE a module called UCM(UE Connection manager) will interact with a module in MEC called as RCM(Radio connection manager). My responsibility here is to design RCM business logic and to make it as a HA service. Control plane UCM to RCM communication will happen in GTP tunnel. MEC will steal these packets and send it to RCM for further processing.

LWIP mainly concentrates on two scenarios

a.LTEAnchored -> LTE downlink data is pushed to UE’s via WIFI Downlink

In this case IPSec tunnel is established from MEC’s MWIF node till UE’s WIFI end point.

b.WIFIAnchored-> WIFI Uplink is pushed to Network via LTE Uplink

c.Testing:

a.Written Unit test cases using CPPUnit

b.Module tests are written using ROBOT framework and written many library API’s in python for various types of executions on target
