Director of Engineering – Hyatt Place Hotel, Glendale, CA

07/2019 - Present Manage the day to day operations of the hotel and Engineering Department. Supervise 3 Engineering technicians in their duties ranging from the Preventive Maintenance Program to room calls and guest requests. Oversee and manage Capital Projects for the hotel. Develop and maintain the hotel Room Preventive Maintenance program in accordance with Hyatt Hotel standards. Manage/maintain hotel energy systems/cooling tower. Perform repairs on all hotel equipment, set up meeting rooms, conduct all purchasing and inventory control of parts, tools, HVAC CNG equipment and all equipment related to Engineering that impacts the hotel. Maintain relationships with all vendors and City and state officials and organizations, regarding all permits and projects. Position reports directly to the General Manager.

Maintenance Technician/Mechanic – Catalina Island Marine Institute, Avalon, CA.

01/2019 – 07/2019 In this position I was responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining different types of heavy equipment, such as Caterpillar tractor and Backhoe, Roll-off garbage bin trucks, concrete mixing trucks, cabin interiors and exteriors, nine fleet vehicles, and 5 utility vehicles. I also completed duties related to plumbing, electrical, low voltage electrical, carpentry, drywall, Landscaping, and all other construction related tasks. I was responsible for material inventory control, keeping accurate records of vehicle service requests, driving an assigned fleet vehicle to and from Avalon in extremely rough and unforgiving terrain. Position is a “live on-site” position located 2 miles west of Avalon on Catalina Island in a remote wilderness area. Position reported to the Maintenance Director.

Chief Engineer- Doubletree Hotel Norwalk, CA

2/2015 – 08/2018 Manage the day to day operations of the hotel and Engineering Department. Supervise 3 Engineering technicians in their duties ranging from the Preventive Maintenance Program to room calls and guest requests. Oversee and manage Capital Projects for the hotel. Develop and maintain the hotel Room Preventive Maintenance program in accordance with Hilton hotel and Interstate hotels standards. Perform repairs on all hotel equipment, set up meeting rooms, conduct all purchasing and inventory control of parts, tools, HVAC, CNG equipment and all equipment related to Engineering that impacts the hotel. Maintain relationships with all vendors and City and state officials and organizations, regarding all permits and projects. Chief Engineer, Residence Inn, Manhattan Beach, CA

5/2013 - 2/2015 Manage the day to day operations of the hotel and Engineering Department and hotel Breakfast Service. Supervise 3 Engineering technicians in their duties ranging from the Preventive Maintenance Program to room calls and guest requests. Supervise hotel kitchen associates and assist with food preparation. Manage all Capital Projects for the hotel as well as hotel renovation. Work as Project Manager for ongoing hotel renovation. Meet with hired contractors daily to establish goals and critical completions timelines to maintain an established date of completion. Work with City and state officials regarding permits and compliance orders for hotel corrections regarding Fire/Life safety. Manage all Accounting tasks related to both departments including all AR and AP related tasks. In addition to managing all improvement projects for the hotel, I also managed all kitchen, happy hour, and meeting room preparations and set ups to include all audio, video, and internet. Oversee and manage Capital Projects for the hotel. Develop and maintain the hotel Room Preventive Maintenance program in accordance with Crown Plaza standards. Manage/maintain hotel energy systems/cooling tower.
