I supervised and monitored the safety of children; prepared meals and organized mealtimes and snacks for children; helped children keep good hygiene; changed the diapers of infants and toddlers; organized activities and implemented curriculum that allowed children to learn about the world and explore interests; developed schedules and routines to ensure that children had enough physical activity, rest, and playtime; watched for signs of emotional or developmental concerns in children and brought the concerns to the attention of parents; kept records of childrens’ progress, routines, and interests. I often helped preschool-age children prepare for kindergarten. I taught children how to play, problem solve, question, and experiment and taught social skills, language and other academic skills. I also worked with school-age children before, after school and supported them during the summer.
