I loved my job! I truly enjoyed the creativity, team building, and respect of my peers across AT&T's departments. I'd still be there, working in the cloud, if AT&T hadn't offered a retirement buyout I couldn't refuse.

After 34 years, I ended my career with AT&T, leading the Core Network Architecture and Tools teams.

My role not only included responsibility for high level OSS solution's to support new consumer and business products, but also monitoring of solution development teams, presentation of network management tools and enhancements to senior management (AVP and VP teams).

My favorite responsibilities were translating new technology and architecture for my peers and senior management. My VISIO and PowerPoint skills were unparalleled.

My final position served as the primary infrastructure architect for AT&T's IMS Core teams, including Consumer and Business VoIP, 4G Mobility VoIP, Unified Messaging, and our Web-facing IMS API. My last deliverables were architecture proposals for developing a Cloud based IMS Core (NaaS & DaaS), as well as the surrounding OSS's (AaaS).

I became an Enterprise Architect in the early 1990's, and expanded my role and responsibilities until my retirement. I began with RBOC IT Network Management and Provisioning Systems, moved to owning all of SBC Long Distance IT, to owning engineering best practices across the global VoIP enterprise.

I've written untold RFI's, RFP's, & RFQ's and had direct input to large Contracts, affecting billions of dollars of income.

I am still curious about EVERYTHING. I still read technical material quickly, and retain almost everything. And I am still very, very good at whatever I do.
