My experience in nursing is vast and varied. My objective for working in your facility is to secure a dynamic position, which will allow me to use my skills and education. In turn helping to improve patient outcomes, empower staff, and better the organization.
Work Experience:
White Plains Hospital- Montefiore Health System- Nurse Manager for Invasive Cardiology- May 2023- present
Responsible for day-to-day operations of a high volume, rapidly growing invasive cardiology, structural heart, and EP dept. Manage and lead staff of fifty plus including RNs, NP’s, CV technicians, and unlicensed personnel. Manage all hiring, evaluations, disciplining, terminating, comfortable in both union/non-union environments. Organize and present monthly meetings for budgets, quality, and Invasive cardiology statistics for national data input. This is not an exhaustive list, more provided upon request.
Nuvance Health Quest- Cardiac Educator for the network- May 2022- May 2023
Developed and educated all new graduate RN cohorts in comprehensive EKG interpretation class, provided annual education for telemetry units within all Nuvance hospitals. Provided real time support for RNs and monitor techs with rhythm questions, interventions, treatment, etc. Collaborated with colleagues and managers to ensure RNs were competent in caring for cardiac patients.
Danbury Hospital- Nurse Manager Cardiac Telemetry Unit- December 3, 2018- May 2022
Nurse Manager for a forty-five-bed cardiac/medical in-patient unit, responsible for the day-to-day operations. My primary responsibilities include leading a team of over ninety plus employees both licensed and unlicensed, maintaining fiscal responsibility for both operations and staffing. As well as maintaining top box ranks in Press Ganey scores, and evaluating, mentoring, and coaching all employees. Daily rounding on patients to improve patient satisfaction scores and ensure Registered Nurses are working at the top of the licenses. Perform daily rounds with multiple disciplines including physicians, residents, case managers, and therapeutic ancillary staff. This is to ensure proper treatment plans are conducted, to decrease the length of stay, and prevent readmissions.
Registered Nurse Albany Medical Center- August 27, 2018, to November 25, 2018
Travel assignment provided total patient care for those undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. This included Left and Right heart caths, TAVR’s PFO closures, and STEMI call. Proficient in the administration of moderate sedation, titration of cardiac drips, pulling arterial and venous sheaths, and providing both pre and post op care.
Clinical Coordinator Carteret Health Care in Morehead City, North Carolina – July 2017 to present.
The role is responsible for CCU/PCU units, as well as house wide coverage on off hours, weekends, and holidays. Manage staffing and day-to-day operations of both critical care and progressive care, handle evaluations, staffing assignments, patient complaints. Respond to all in house rapid responses, strokes, and cardiac arrests. Provide educational training to the staff in both departments on caring for and managing cardiac cath lab patients. At present work in cardiac cath lab to cover and assist as needed to maintain cath lab skill set.
Cardiac Cath Lab- Carteret Health Care Morehead City, North Carolina- July 2016- June 2017
Worked as staff nurse in cardiac cath lab assisted and recovered patients’ pre and post procedure. Also assisted with diagnostic and planned interventions. No call required and no STEMI program at this time.
Clinical Coordinator at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY- March 2016 to June 2016
Oversaw the daily operations of the cardiac cath and interventional labs, participated in monthly STEMI meetings, rounded on and provided education for all in- patients who received stents or experienced a STEMI. In conjunction with the director of the cardiac cath lab, my responsibilities included reviewing readmissions, cardiac cath lab complications, development of quality metrics, and data entry, assisted in procedures, as needed, which included data entry, medicating patients, setting up equipment for emergencies.
Staff RN- Cross Country Travel assignment February 2015- March 2016 at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY
Employed at an excellent academic center that had three cardiac cath and three EP labs as a staff nurse. All necessary functions performed for patients undergoing cardiac cath procedures, EP studies, and right heart cath biopsies, cared for patients, pre, intra, and post procedure.
Nurse Manager of Interventional Cardiology and Imaging Services at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY- August 2014 to January 2015
Responsible for day to day operations of 2 room IR/Cath lab suite, manage 4-5 RN’s and 2 x-ray techs, providing scheduling, interviewing and performance appraisals, handle payroll via Kronos, maintain all education and certifications for staff, hold staff meetings as needed, work collaboratively with IR physicians as well as multiple disciplines to ensure excellent customer service. Also assist staff with CT/MRI injections as needed to ensure patient care in a timely fashion, attend management and leadership meetings as necessary, and provide input to improve nursing practices by using evidenced based sources.
