Best Buy is a 40 billion dollar retail electronics distributor with over 1200 stores in the United States and 380 Stores in Canada. The U.S. headquarters are in Minneapolis Minnesota and the Canadian Headquarters are located in Vancouver British Columbia. Most recently Best Buy has opened new stores in Shanghai, Singapore and Japan to leverage the new and emerging Asian Markets. In March of 2007 Accenture Technology Consulting was retained to manage a joint venture between Best Buy and the Hong Kong Shanghai Bank of China (HSBC). The initiative involved the creation of a new Private Label Credit Card (PLCC) to facilitate finance promotional programs for targeting new and emerging markets.

This initiative required transitioning HSBC and Best Buy Business processes to offshore resources for operational support of the new business capability and to facilitate and support enhanced vendor services.

The project was a three year initiative which required the acquisition and integration of new hardware and network infrastructure into an intermediary data translation and mapping layer, facilitated through a third party offshore vendor (Eigen).

This end-to-end multi-layered integrative network service required extensive offshore concurrent transition and development on a multitude of client server based and e-Com platforms.

SSN Risk Mitigation - Program Manager – Consulting Engagement

The largest Motor Sales Corporation in the world, Toyota was founded in 1933 and employs 316,121 people as a $119 billion provider of automotive products and services.

On June 18th of 2002 the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) was passed by Congress into Federal Law, as a legislative precedent on corporate financial liability in response to the Enron Scandal. In November of 2002 the Sarbanes-Oxley Congressional Act (SOX) provided the impetus for the Office of the CIO at Toyota to develop a company wide project initiative for the removal of social security number as the primary key from all corporate database repositories, extract files, backups, software and third party vendor interfaces. The Project Scope was developed to limit Toyota's financial liability and mitigate risk associated with identity theft and the dissemination of personal identification information. The project was denoted as the Social Security Number (SSN) Risk Mitigation Project Initiative and was the largest project at Toyota in the past decade.

Converted Base SAS & Macro Utilities used for QMS to capture & chart variable temperature monitoring control systems for out-of-range sequences, to maintain quality controlled temperatures in the vehicle supply chain shop floor production environment.

The coordination, management and tactical deployment of all national project team initiatives for removing social security number as a primary key from corporate database repositories, online systems, production job streams and vendor interfaces.

Developed detailed cross application analysis and master spreadsheet of all impacted systems and functional business groups to highlight conversion gaps and develop detailed comprehensive remediation strategies.

Duties included the development of detailed deployment plans, back-out strategies and composite super-imposed timelines for multiple vertical core team conversions to highlight overlapping run units, interdependencies, concurrent activities and critical path.

The conversion effort required the modification, testing and implementation of over forty million lines of program code and twenty eight thousand file conversions.

This included highly critical multi-volume DB2 table spaces that required the conversion of a billion or more table rows.

The project was successfully implemented ahead of schedule, within budget and error free.

A $2.5 billion privately-held provider of automotive, travel, and financial services to more than 4 million members in Northern California, Nevada, and Utah; is the second-largest affiliate of AAA.

Managed statistical reporting and QA validation effort for a large database core system conversion in partnership with IBM. Managed the development of SAS Based Tools for field by field and end to end testing and validation of large converted data extracts, prior to loading to an SQL based relational database repository (DB2).

Designed detailed statistical reporting models and graphical presentations as well as high level metrics for senior executive management. Utilized Mercury Test-Director for defect management.

The project was completed on-time, within budget and error free.

Managed the development of 1800 SQL and SAS scripts for validating business use cases. Developed test scripts and statistical reporting to provide detailed cross-tabulated statistics and analysis of data by variance, linear regression and other statistically relevant indicators.

Validated IBM's work to ensure quality assurance of all output. Managed end-to-end testing strategy for all systems and tables to validate a complex conversion from legacy systems to flat files, then to DB2 load extracts, and finally to a transactional database.

Implemented the Home Owner Premium Statistics system including statistical analysis software (SAS) for macro utilities using date variance. Developed bridge programs for swapping data into compliant interfacing systems and published company-wide standards for flagging SQL release errors.

Managed eight senior technicians in developing detailed program specifications for 104 interfaces.
