Assign tasks to staff nurses based on patient needs and workloads, and ensure assignments are distributed equitably. Evaluate staff performance, provide feedback, and mentor new staff. Provide intrauterine resuscitation of fetus with category 2 and category 3 strips. Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care of patient’s undergoing C-sections. Care of high-risk patients with hypertensive disorders, diabetes, multiple gestation, and antepartum patients requiring prolonged monitoring. Safely administer ordered medications and blood products by applying the five rights of medication administration and facility policies and protocols. Stabilization and assessment of newborns. Assist mother and infants with breastfeeding. Provide individualized patient/family education on topics such as induction procedures, delivery procedures, newborn care, and postpartum care.
