As an expert trainer, prepares and instructs new recruit officers to proficiently handle the physical demands of law enforcement. Provides each recruit class the mandatory 120 hours of physical training and ensures the recruit officer meets or exceeds the physical standards required by the Cooper Institute. Responsible for conditioning the recruit officers five days a week over a 12 week course. Defines each recruit officer with adept knowledge on cardiovascular training, calisthenics, resistance and strength training while placed into a group training environment. Responsible for the development of the curriculum and competency instructional implementation skill sets for each recruit officer. Provides the foundation and defines the critical ability for the recruit officer to respond to defensive tactics, to include but not limited to: use of force, close quarter combatives, takedowns and control techniques, submissions, handcuffing, stop and frisk, prisoner search, tactical baton training, weapon retention tactics, escapes and encounters, Oleoresin Capsicum training, officer street survival, high risk traffic stops, and facility entries.
Key Achievements:
Serves as the annual professional development certifier for 4K members of the Metropolitan Police Department. Conducts mandatory annual in-service professional training and development for all internal and external law enforcement professionals. Maintains 100% rate; audit-ready program.
Manages training program; as a subject matter expert, identifies workforce training requirements; authors curriculum necessary to remain relevant and in line with world events and federal policies; prepares and staffs updated development instruction/plans for approval authority of regulations.
