Finance Director Financial Management

My resume is being submitted for the Finance Director position listed on Post Job Free. My many years of experience in financial management, most in the nonprofit sector, make me an excellent fit for this position. Please note that the recent gap in my resume was due to a purposeful temporary break from work, in order to get some home projects done and have some vacation time with family and friends. I left my last position on good terms and expect that the CEO of that company would give me an outstanding reference. My plan has always been to look for work at the end of the summer, and now that time is here.

I have been both working in and overseeing accounting departments for many years. My specialties include working with department heads on program strategy; setting up controls and financial processes; budgeting and expense management; extracting and presenting key information from financials to assist in strategic planning, analyzing potential for new lines of business, and mentoring team members to develop their skills and efficiency. In my current position, I helped the company transition through a 250% increase in revenue in a matter of a few months, so I would be a valuable resource for your company as it expands. In addition to my real-world experience, I have a Masters’ degree in Accounting from Suffolk University in Boston.

I believe that the best managers are not only skilled at mentoring others, but also have hands-on experience themselves. My past experience includes monthly closings, A/R, A/P, payroll, HR and benefits administration, accrued revenue and expenses, inventory tracking, fixed asset tracking, ad-hoc reporting, and working with auditors at year-end.

I have supervised accounting clerks, bookkeepers, and payroll clerks, as well as other staff. Having always worked for small organizations however, I am used to chipping in whenever and wherever needed. I have worked remotely for many years and have the self-discipline and trustworthiness required for this type of position. I would also welcome the chance for regular office visits, as I find occasional face-to-face interaction helps to maintain a team’s relationship.
