Procure ground support equipment in support of the government MISCX program. Procure hi Rel electronics, connectors, cables, and other misc. hardware. Negotiations with suppliers, solicit quotations, perform price analysis, research new parts to a drawing. Maintain long term agreements. Negotiate NDA agreements with suppliers. Procure repair orders with OEM manufacturers. Procure parts made to drawings. Work with engineering to solve mechanical issues. Contract Buyer for L3 Harris Datron. In this role, I purchased both machined, some complex, and sheet metal manufactured parts. I take engineering drawings, break them down and decide which supplier would be best qualified to make a particular part. As a buyer, I also help this company qualify new suppliers to perform these roles. I do supplier follow up, assist them in reaching a better supplier delivery rating. I help suppliers solve engineering deviations by working with the engineer so machined items can pass inspection and become a deliverable to the end customer.
