From February 2007 November 15, 2021 in the government service under the office of City Social Welfare and Development as the Social Welfare Officer I assigned in the Protective Service Section handling all special cases especially in the implementation of programs and services for child maltreatment victims of abuse, youth offenders, exploitation, neglect, mendicants, abandonment, stranded clients or any other related cases under Republic Act 7610, Republic Act 9344, Republic Act 9775 and Republic Act 9262.
Duties and Responsibilities
Community and social service workers perform all of the following duties:
• Assess clients' relevant skill strengths and deficits
• Assessing clients’ relevant skill, strength and deficits to ensure that he/she will response promptly to the assistance given to him.
• Assist clients in locating and utilizing community resources including legal, medical and financial assistance, housing, employment, transportation, assistance with moves, day care and other referral services
• In doing this task the client will be assess thoroughly for given them the opportunity to further evaluate themselves of what needs the will prioritize.
• Counsel clients living in group homes and half-way houses, supervise their activities and assist in pre-release and release planning
• Counseling clients living in a group home and half way houses will be the tool for me to prepare their environment that they will be reunified/reintegrate in the future.
• Participate in the selection and admission of clients to appropriate programs
• To do this task I will assess the clients during intake and counseling sessions so that she/he may be evaluated properly for giving the appropriate assistance
• Assess and investigate eligibility for social benefits
• By conducting home visits and collateral interview to community and other line agencies to further assess and investigate eligibility for social benefits.
• Meet with clients to assess their progress, give support and discuss any difficulties or problems
• Through continuous counseling and case conferences.
• Refer clients to other social services
• This is done to endorse client to avail of any form of services and assistance from government and other line agencies
• Advise and aid recipients of social assistance and pensions
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency shelter services
• Participate in providing crisis intervention of emergency shelter services to victims of natural and man-made calamity
• Implement and organize the delivery of specific services within the community. As the assigned officer in providing the services for all the special cases including victims of abused, maltreatment and others make sure that client may avail of the needed assistance for example assisting client in the medical/physical/psychological examination.
• Assist in the implementation of life skills workshops, substance abuse treatment programs, behavior management programs, youth services programs and other community and social service programs under the supervision of social services or health care professionals
• May supervise social service support workers and volunteers. 1) Conduct interview to clients to obtain their history and background information to be able to give the appropriate assistance.
2) Facilitate the implementation of programs for child maltreatment victims of abuse, youth offenders, exploitation, neglect, mendicants, abandonment, stranded clients or any other related cases under Republic Act 7610, Republic Act 9262 and Republic Act 9344.

3) Formulate plans and strategies related to direct implementation of assigned programs and services.
4) Interview, assess and prepare Social Case Study Report and other documents necessary for treatment plan, rehabilitation and termination of case clients. 5) Conduct home visitation/ collateral information to evaluate the socio – economic condition of client.
6) Organized available manpower and resources over a given period of time to synchronize the planned activities to achieve the stated objectives with the least expenditures.
7) Identify basic needs of the target clientele / group and execute appropriate measures to alleviate their problem and improve their living condition. 8) Maintain productive morale and professionalism among workers and volunteers and provide technical assistance.
9) Exchange information and cooperate with supervisors in relation in working in different clientele, among workers and volunteers. 10) Prepare reports in every activity and programs implementation conducted by the assigned section.
11) Conduct and attend meeting among workers, volunteers and target clientele group.
12) Coordinate with the other line agencies (Government organization, nongovernment organization and Peoples organization) (GO’s, NGO’s and PO’s) 13) Assist in the service delivery, particularly those which have to do with immediate relief during assistance in the aftermath of manmade and natural disasters and natural calamity.
14) Perform other duties and functions as may be required by the Department Head from time to time
