● Validated a specialized NiTi wire training machine for production which included completing the necessary paperwork (IQ, OQ, PQ) and testing the accuracy of the machine using variations of changed variables.

Used the validated machine to test the wire’s transformation characteristics

●Tested different crimping methods to compare the pull off force and crimp geometry for each method using an Instron tensile testing machine. The crimps dimensions were measured using a stereoscope and Clemex software

Created a new fixture for the Instron tensile tester using SolidWorks

●Worked with fluidized beds to create NiTi shape set parts to determine the difference between small and large beds by changing variables such as temperature, depth location, and time

●Made CAD designs and 3D printed fixtures to best remove oxidation from parts while in the ultrasonic cleaner, after being etched.

●Researched methods to remove endotoxins from water quench tanks

Concluded that UV light was the most effective in breaking down bacteria
