Alcohol and Drug Counselors. Your Temporary Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor is effective August 11, 2022 terminating on August 11, 2024. If you need more than two years, you may request for an extension prior to the termination date.
You may now call yourself and sign your name as "TCADG"', ['T-CADC", "Temporary CADC", or "Temporary Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor" and can begin obtaining your supervision hours with your board-approved supervisor(s) of record.
1.Please create an online eServices account as, soon as possible if you have not already done so: http://adc.ky.gov and click on 'feServices" at the top of the page to register for an account. Your "OP ID" is 321719. Our offices will no longer be sending òfficial certificates, however, feel free to print your own certificate now, and update the Board with any change of supervisor, address, employer, name, or email through this online account. You can also view your current board approved supervisor(s) of record. Please ensure your information remains to up to date so you may receive pertinent Board information and Board e-mails.
2.Your Supervision Logs and Annual Report forms are due one year from the effective date of your Temporary CADC. You may submit your Supeèv.ision Annual Report and Supervision Verification Form (Logs) at http://adc.ky.gov by clicking on the SupèFvision link via your eServices account, Both the logs and annual report will need to be completed via yout eServices account by the Annual Report due date listed above.
3.Temporary CADC's do not have any Continuing Education requirements. Instead, they are to focus on gaining the necessary supervision hours and wciižkexperience.
4.Except as provided in Section 11 of 201 KAR 35:070, a supervisee shall not continue to practice alcohol and drug counseling if (a) the conditions for supewisioh. set forth in the supervisory agreement are not followed; (b) there is a death or serious illness of the board-approved supervisor that results in the supervisor not being able to provide supervision; or (c) the supervisory;agreement is terminated by the board, the board-approved supervisor, or the supervisee for any reason other than the extenuating circumstances that allow temporary supervision in Section 11 of 201 KAR 35:070.

Willaim Cteasent was employed as drug and alcohol counselor with Shepherds House, Inc. He worked at our Substance Abuse Program (SAP) located inside the Shelby County Detention Center. Mr. Cleasent had a 20-person case load. His daily job responsibilities included: treatment plan development and monthly treatment plan updates, weekly progress notes, psychosocial assessments, group counseling, facilitating evidence-based curriculum, and management of the 60 bed SAP program. Mr. Cleasent was a great counselor/employee. He was knowledgeable, professional, reliable, and compassionate with the clients. He performed his job responsibilities promptly and with accuracy, and enthusiasm.
