To Whom it May Concern,
This letter is written in support of Marilyn Leal, RN. Marilyn has been employed over the last several years as a cardiovascular nurse whose job it was to support me and my colleagues in our efforts as a private practice cardiologist group. Her primary responsibilities were to support my personal efforts and included functioning as the major interface with my patients who were outpatients. This included such activities as fielding phone calls of patients with problems, providing initial telephone triage to assess patient’s needs, and relaying test results to patients with instructions for med changes, additional diagnostic testing and follow up. This information was vetted by the physician but required detailed communication on her part. In addition, there were activities which were algorithm driven and therefore more functionally independent like warfarin management. She proved to be an invaluable resource to patients providing education and instruction in such areas as anticoagulation management, lipid management, and cardiovascular procedure education.
Marilyn was extremely well thought of by the patients. She was kind, compassionate and very thorough. She consistently completed all of her tasks without prompting and was appreciated by the patients for her promptness and attention to detail. There was hardly ever a week that went by that I wasn’t stopped by a patient thanking me for the exceptional care and help that they had received from Marilyn.
Part of her responsibilities also included assistance to other physicians in the office when their nurses were unavailable. She was likewise able to provide the same excellence in care and timely assistance. She was very collegial and communicated well with multiple physicians despite any stylistic differences.
We are saddened by Marilyn’s departure but understand that change is inevitable. We have valued our time with her and only wish her the best. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas M Broderick, MD
Experienced Legal Nurse Consultant seeking additional positions within the field to showcase acute attention to detail, industry knowledge, and in depth analysis.
