To Whom it May Concern:
I am applying for a position as a cardiac sonographer. I have been registered by the ARDMS since 2011 as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. My number is 131375. My Basic Life Support CPR & AED is current through 2025 and was issued by American Heart Association. I graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Science specializing in cardiac ultrasound. I have 17 years of experience in performing routine and advanced adult echos TTE, transesophageal echos TEE, stress echos SE, dobutamine stress echos, bubble studies, Definity/contrast studies, Watchman procedures, limited echos and TAVR procedures. I have followed the standard protocols while incorporating the techniques such as right and left ventricular strain, Tissue Doppler, left ventricular bi-plane volume measurements, cardiac stroke volume, cardiac output, Simpsons Method of calculating the ejection fraction, Qp/Qs measurements as well as the general testing methods of M-mode, Pulsed and Continuous Wave Doppler, color flow Doppler and two-dimensional visualization. Areas of special interest for me are endocarditis cases, aortic stenosis evaluation, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Takotsubo cardiomyopathy and evaluation of wall motion abnormalities. I first learned how to do echo on the Philips Sonos 5500 but currently work with the newer Philips Epic machines and Siemens machines. I am confident in my ability to scan patients of any body habitus while making sure sufficient information has been acquired to provide an accurate diagnosis for the patients I see.
I have oriented and trained new employees and students on clinical rotations as well as doctors going through their rotation for ultrasound. I've assisted with new equipment instillation and equipment maintenance. I have some management experience when I worked in Lewes, Delaware. I was responsible for weekly technologists work schedules, monthly site visits and technologists PTO schedule for 5 technologists across three locations. I prepared and submitted quarterly reports for auditing the quality of work and technologists performance evaluations. I was also responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for ICAEL Accreditation. I also developed the logging system for Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia using Excel.
I thoroughly enjoy working with patients and have a strong ability to work with minimal supervision as well as be a team member. I strive to cultivate the best possible working relationship with the doctors, nurses and appropriate staff that I can and treat everyone I meet with respect and dignity. I take pride in the studies I perform which are centered on patient care as well as accuracy, empathy and done efficiently. I believe that I can handle the difficult tasks and uncertainties that come with this profession. I am a loyal, reliable hard working person that has treated about 55,000 patients over the last 17 years in echocardiography. I am adaptable to the situation in front of me. I can be a good listener, critical thinker and make decisive judgements when needed. I can work independently but know when to ask for help. Above all else I want to help people solve the problems they have related to their heart with a concrete answer. I fully believe that ultrasound is one of the best tools we have to find and fix issues within the heart. I also want to thank you for taking the time to consider me for this position.
Sincerely,
Scott Sanetrik, BS RDCS
