As the Systems Engineer II I was tasked as Lead Engineer on Timing servers such as NTP (Network Time Protocol) and PTP (Precision Time Protocol) where I corrdinated installation, configured, monitored, maintained and corrdinated repairs of timing servers across our national footprint. These servers provided timing for all levels of computer, servers, switches and cable TV modems for timing to the video and ad market. These servers connected and synced to satalites to then deliver accuate time to the nano second. I worked for the Business Information Systems group in support of REXX language applications. My primary duties were writing and maintaining technical applications on an IBM 3081 main frame server. These applications allowed me to work with the customer to meet their needs by producing paperless electronic forms in an automated office environment. The applications were used by the company across the United States.
While at the National Test Facility I designed applications that gathered information from several Mainframe computer systems used to populate an Oracle database, I designed the apps that were written in REXX and used SQL plus.
