With this position I would go into the lab, obtain my route for the day. Travel to TEU/Nursing/Assisted livings, confirming my orders with the nurses, the lab book, and then I sign off. I draw the patient’s blood sample ordered by the attending physician. Label tubes with the patient’s name, DOB, time, date, also confirming with patient and the order. Follow the order of draw procedures, ship specimen back into the lab veva quicksilver placing the specimens into red cooler with the shipping instructions.

A lot of communication with patients, doctors, nurses, outreach customer service, and quicksilver. All of the lab specimens need to be done in a timely manner including driving time. I draw an average of 55 patients per day for a 6 hour shift
