Senior Software Engineer

Member of the development team responsible for the software used to control the company’s flagship instrument.

Principle developer of application used to acquire, process, and view reference images used by Akoya to compensate for differences between individual instruments. Such references are also tracked so that they will be re-acquired in a timely fashion so that any changes in the imaging system can be accounted for.

Wrote software which allowed the Akoya PhenoCYCLER instrument to identify components used in each experiment using barcodes. The barcodes are obtained using the imaging system and decoded to ensure that the test cell has been properly assembled and detect a leak condition prior to the introduction of fluids, preventing damage to the device.

Code Reviews where other developer’s software was critiqued to ensure that company code standards and design practices were followed.

Software Engineer

Part of a development team which converted from a previous ERP system to a cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP.

Built a custom MRP application designed to satisfy the specialized requirements of the aerospace and medical device industries. This application not only provided the expected MRP suite of information but also analyzed raw material and finished good to determine when these SKU’s no longer met the unique specifications of these markets.

Designed a Non-Conforming materials application which allowed non-conforming materials to be identified and isolated from use until the non-conforming condition is resolved. Complete traceability and evidentiary trail (documents, photos, video) of detection and resolution of the non-conformity is retained.

Created an Advanced Shipping Notice application allowing future shipping order information to be retrieved electronically in vendor specific formats. The format contained a complete material pedigree along with any defect information.

Conversion of all fiber optic test software from WinForms/C++ to .NET C# utilizing WPF. These applications were constructed to allow highly sophisticated measurements to be performed by ordinary factory personnel.

Built a factory-wide SQL Server 2014 based, PTS (Product Tracking System) used to monitor all factory activities. Including Raw Material consumption, equipment usage, employee productivity, collect all test data, and grade the product.

Highly experienced with all aspects of relation databases using SQL including table creation, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, Triggers, Constraints, and Views.

Create, maintain, and modify all software used by fiber optical test equipment. These tests consist of Fiber Geometry, Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Optical, Chromatic Dispersion, and High-Resolution Differential Modal Delay (Hi Res DMD). These tests completely characterize fiber performance including bandwidth, attenuation, numerical aperture at all operating wavelengths.

Trained members of the Engineering/Operations/ R & D staff in various Report Writing techniques. These techniques included SSRS and Microsoft Excel reports.

Converted reports used by the Engineering staff to monitor factory performance from Excel to SSRS.
