OBJECTIVE:
Seeking a private and/or public position that will benefit from my more than thirty years of very successful government relations, political fundraising and management experience. CAREER-RELATED WORK HISTORY:
Pennsylvania Forest Products Association, Harrisburg, PA - Executive Director & CEO - Responsibilities included supervision of the day to- day operations of the Association, management of a professional staff of two employees, and managing the Association’s financial and budgetary affairs. Duties also included being the primary lobbyist and governmental relations professional for the Association. This included legislative tracking and bill analysis, drafting legislation and amendment language and coordinating effective grassroots lobbying efforts with association members and elected official on the state and federal level on legislative and regulatory issues vital to their businesses. Also acted as the Treasurer of TimberPAC, the Association’s political action committee. Responsibilities included the coordination of all fundraising efforts and the allocation of campaign contributions - January 2018 to January 2020. Pennsylvania Retailers’ Association, Harrisburg, PA – President & CEO - Responsibilities included supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Association, management of a professional staff of four employees, and managing the Association’s financial and budgetary affairs. Duties also included acting as the primary lobbyist for the Association and Fifty-First Associates, LLC, an association management and contract lobbying firm (March 2002 thru March 2009) and other contract lobbying clients, legislative analysis, drafting legislation and amendment language and coordinating effective grassroots efforts with association members and clients on legislative and regulatory issues vital to their business; Act as the legislative liaison between the retailing industry and the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation; Executive Director of PaRPAC (Pennsylvania Retail Political Action Committee) - Responsibilities include the coordination of all fund raising campaigns and the allocation of campaign contributions - October 1994 to January 2018.
Pennsylvania Retailers’ Association, Harrisburg, PA - Vice President, Governmental Affairs - Responsibilities included being the primary lobbyist for the Association, the Pennsylvania Jewelers Association and the Associated Credit Bureaus of Pennsylvania (focusing on state and federal legislative and regulatory issues having an impact on the retail and business industry), legislative analysis, drafting legislation and amendment language and coordinating effective grassroots efforts with Association members on legislative and regulatory issues vital to their business; Responsible for assisting the President with daily operations of the Association; Executive Director of PaRPAC (Pennsylvania Retail Political Action Committee) - Responsibilities included the coordination of all fund raising campaigns and the allocation of campaign contributions - October 1992 to October 1994. Pennsylvania Retailers’ Association, Harrisburg, PA - Director of Governmental Affairs - Responsibilities included lobbying for the Association, legislative analysis, drafting legislation and amendment language and coordinating effective grassroots efforts with Association members on legislative and regulatory issues vital to their business; Assistant Executive Director of PaRPAC (Pennsylvania Retail Political Action Committee) - Responsibilities include the coordination of all fund raising campaigns and the allocation of campaign contributions - September 1991 to October 1992. Pennsylvania Retailers’ Association, - Harrisburg, PA - Legislative and Political Assistant -Responsibilities included lobbying, legislative analysis, bill tracking and assisting in the operation of the Political Action Committee (PaRPAC) - April 1989 to September 1991. Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Harrisburg, PA - Program Coordinator -Responsibilities included public relations efforts with the local media, area businesses and the general public; coordination of fund raising campaigns (responsible for raising $150,000 in 1988-89) - June 1988 to April 1989. State Senator Terry Punt, Waynesboro, PA - Served as Campaign Coordinator for Senator Punt’s 1988 successful bid for the Republican Senatorial nomination, 33rd District; Responsibilities included scheduling candidate events, campaign fund raising endeavors and coordinating campaign volunteer workers - March to May 1988.
