EXPERIENCE
Texas Roadhouse – Key Manager/Server/Bartender
January 2014–Present
I was hired on at Texas Roadhouse as a hostess in January 2014 and quickly moved up to a server within 6 months. I became a server trainer and was then promoted to a key management position in January 2016. I became a bartender in 2020 as well. I now work as a key manager, bartender, and server. My responsibilities as a manager include ensuring a legendary experience for every guest, handling all of the restaurant’s finances, collecting, organizing and filing servers’ certifications, interviewing and hiring applicants, scheduling employees, training new managers, coordinating and supervising servers, hosts, and busboys, handling disputes or complaints from our guests, working closely with management to implement policies and procedures and helping out wherever I am needed. As a server and bartender, my responsibilities are to provide legendary service to our guests, while working as a team with other servers and bartenders, handling cash, cleaning, and controlling the intake of my guests’ alcohol.
Lamar University — Student Editor
Summer 2023
Over the summer of 2023, I worked as a student editor. I assisted in the publication of LamarStrong: A Resiliency Reader. It is a book made up of different poems, essays, and stories, written by alumni and students of Lamar campuses. My duties were accepting and declining submissions, proofreading and editing the accepted submissions, helping plan and also attending a release party.
Lamar University — Editor Internship
Fall 2023 Semester
Over the fall 2023 semester, I did an internship as an editor. I was the sole editor of the book The Meditating Mother. My responsibilities were taking the book through all publication stages: communicating with the book's author, proofreading, editing, and typesetting. It was during this internship that I gained experience typesetting with Adobe InDesign.
Provost & Umphrey Law Firm – File Clerk

I worked as a file clerk under Jane S. Leger where my responsibilities included but were not limited to filing case paperwork, organizing case files, handling correspondence and mailing out checks, copying, faxing, and distributing documents in the office, answering phones, and other various office duties.
