The first career was in Managerial Accounting for manufacturing and service industries for over 20 years. After becoming a full - time stepparent, it was needed to be stay at home Parent and Domestic Engineer for 15 years. The third career was a Licensed Massage Therapist for 3 years. The fourth career was counseling and office manager for addiction medicine doctor for a year. The next goal was to become a Family Counselor to help families in recovery. Therefore, a Master’s Degree in Human Services with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy was completed. After graduating with an MS, the path led to work as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor for a medication assistant treatment (MAT) center. After being diagnosed and treated for Colon Cancer in 2019, it was necessary to retire, then Covid- 19 hit and the world shut down. In 2021 it was time to start working and get out of the house. After 6 months a notification for a Tech at Cadas was received which led to becoming a Tech. Other job titles include: Office Manager, Payroll Manager, Inventory Control Manager, Retail Sales, Cost Accountant, Supervisor. Also set up bookkeeping systems for businesses.

WORK EXPERIENCE

CADAS

January 5, 2022 to June, 2024

Started as a part time weekend Tech. Then a full -time 2nd shift Tech Position came open and have been full time since then. Also, became lead Tech on 2nd and 1st Shift. Tech duties include monitoring the clients, making sure they get to their scheduled activities, directing them to follow rules, monitoring the phone and TV times. It is important to see that the clients have what they need to have a successful stay during their treatment on the unit. Clients are accounted for and directed to appointments at the clinic as well as transported to outside appointments.

Volunteer Comprehensive Treatment Center

March 2015 to September 2019

Counseling patients in medicated assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction. Addressed individual and family issues as well as issues of living sober and life events as needed. Many were able to change their life and taper out of the program to live a happy successful life. Followed patients from Intake through Biopsychosocial, Treatment Plan, Career Counseling, and Discharge to continue a sober productive lifestyle as perceived by patient.
