Performed upgrades of CyberSense server infrastructure to resolve some issues with false positive security alerts. Conduct storage product analysis and evaluations of solutions that meet the require- ments and goals directed by the PMO. Manage vendor relationships through review meet- ings to validate services level agreements. Attend technical conferences to keep abreast of product roadmaps from Microsoft, NetApp, and Dell EMC. Project Lead for data protection infrastructure coordinating deployment in Sterling, VA with Dell EMC and NIH CIT Team. Updated con- troller and drive firmware, improving resiliency and reducing drive failure rate. Per- formed storage provisioning for VMware infrastructure. Managed data protection policies for VMware, Unix, and Windows Server platforms on EMC Networker 9.X with Data Domain backup appliance and SpectraLogic tape library for off-site copies. Performed firmware updates on Data Domain and Networker storage node, increasing performance of tape copy rate.

Performed installation and management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.X servers on VMware infrastructure. Maintained system updates using Red Hat Satellite 6 for sub- scription and configuration management; also used security hardening practices to miti- gate security risks on servers located in network DMZ.

Man- agement of Hitachi CommandSuite and Tuning Manager 7.X providing the tools for alloca- tion and performance tuning of HDS USP, USPV, and VSP storage frames.

(March 2010 - August 2010) At Chevy Chase Bank(Storage Engineer), performed management of storage area network fabric consisting of McData 6040 director and edge switches using EFCM 9.X for zoning N ports. Configured inter switch links(ISL) on core switches for SAN connectivity to IBM BladeCenter chassis and Q-Logic HBAs on hosts. Performed installation of IBM SAN Volume Controller 8G4 cluster virtualizing storage on IBM DS4800 and 8000 frames. Performed install of IBM EXP810 disk expansion unit providing additional storage capacity. Configured managed disk groups on IBM DS4800 us- ing Storage Manager; on the DS8000 using the DS8000CLI to the IBM SVC. Performed provisioning of storage using IBM SVC Master Console to assign virtu- al disks to open systems platforms. Performed management of storage area network fabric consisting of McData i10K direc- tor and Sphereon 4500/4700edge switches using EFCM 9.X for zoning N ports. (August 2007 - March 2009) At GEICO(Storage Engineer), Performed storage provi- sioning using IBM SAN Volume Controller on storage frames EMC DMX3, HDS USP 9980, and IBM DS8000. Configured managed disks using symdevs, ldevs, and ranks for LUN pre- sentations on IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, SUSE Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server. Performed design of storage provisioning process to VMware VI3 system infrastructure using VMFS for ESX server host and NPIV and RDM LUNs for virtual machine hosts. Per- formed zoning of ESX server physical HBAs and configured NPIV ports on virtual ma- chines and populated SAN fabric name server with NPIV WWPNs. Performed storage provisioning with HP CommandView on HP EVA arrays to Microsoft Windows Server and VMware VI3 using HP BladeSystem C enclosures. Performed storage frame migrations using HP Continuous Access remote replication, moving data from EVA 4100/8100 to 4400/8400.

Performed management of Symantec Netbackup 6.0 infrastructure running on Solaris 10 and Sun M5000 server; performance tuning of components that constrained throughput of backup data.Isolated failed components that caused job failures and with coordination of the host administration team, replaced HBAs restoring backup service.

(April 2006 - August 2007) At Fannie Mae(Storage Engineer), Performed data cen- ter operations on a multi petabyte storage area network consisting of EMC Clariion CX700, EMC Symmetrix 7000, EMC DMX 2/3, Hitachi 9570V, and Hitachi AMS1000 storage enclosures. Performed administration of storage area network fabric consisting of Bro- cade 4100 switches in a redundant core-edge configuration. Performed Brocade Fabric OS firmware updates on SAN fabric; replaced fibre cable, SFP, and HBA components to resolve inter-switch link and multi path connectivity. Coordinat- ed with customer engineers from EMC and Hitachi to perform replacement of cache boards, front end adapter, and back end adapter boards under break/fix change manage- ment policy.

Performed installation of EMC Solutions Enabler software on Sun Solaris operating system to enable management of EMC Symmetrix storage enclosures using SYMCLI. Per- formed administration of EMC storage enclosures, including lun masking using SYMCLI and microcode updates with EMC support conformant to change management records and policies.

Performed configuration of device groups using standard and business continuance sym- metrix logical volumes using Timefinder Mirror/Clone and Symmetrix Remote Data Facili- ty(SRDF). Coordinated restore operations with server operations team to facilitate point in time database recoveries using business continuance volumes(BCVs).

(November 2004 - October 2005) At U.S. NARA(Unix Engirmed installation of Cisco MDS-9509 and Cisco MDS-9216 using a core-edge fabric configuration, providing scalable and highly available storage services. Designed SAN topology using Cisco VSAN virtual storage area networks and zoning to secure/partition i/o traffic. Performed unix system backup and recovery with Veritas Netbackup 5.0 and the Sun Stor- EDGE L20 tape library using DLT tape media. Performed cost benefit analysis of current backup infrastructure and designed an enterprise backup solution using the Quantum i2000 tape library and Veritas Netbackup for Unix, Novell, and Windows. Performed installation of Solaris 10 on Sun Fire V440 servers using Oracle 10g RAC, Veritas File System(VxFS), Veritas Volume Manager(VxVM), and Veritas Cluster Server 4.1. Performed installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 on Sun Fire V20z using Apache HTTPS 2.0 and Apache Tomcat 5.0 for Archival Research Catalog(ARC). Performed configuration of EMC Celerra NS500 network attached storage(NAS) unit us- ing iSCSI and CIFS storage protocols. (October 2001 - September 2004) AT U.S. DOL(Unix Engineer), Performed installa- tion of Cisco MDS-9509 and Cisco IP storage services blade using a collapsed core fabric topology and iSCSI storage services on IBM AIX. Installed SAN-OS 1.3 enabling the use of IP storage services blade and designed SAN topology using virtual storage area networks and fabric zoning to secure and partition i/o traffic. Performed configuration of Hitachi Thunder 9570V RAID array with Hitachi Resource Manager to provision storage for DB2 database servers. Storage configuration included RAID5 disk groups using hot spares for data relocation resulting from device failures, and logical unit(LUN) masking to provide storage security. Performed configuration of IBM P650 running AIX 5.2 and iSCSI volumes using IBM iSCSI initiator and the Cisco IP storage services blade for DB2 8 RDBMS. Configured redundant Gigabit Ethernet adapters using jumbo frames to provide scalable and high available iSC- SI volumes with the IBM AIX Logical Volume Manager. Performed configuration of Spectra Logic 12000 tape library using fibre channel quad interface processors(QIP) and AIT-2 tape drives. Zoned fibre channel QIP including a ded- icated host bus adapter(HBA) for backup path. Performed installation of SyncSort Back- up Express 2.1 for backup and restore of DB2 databases and NetApp Filers.
