In 2011, I was presented the opportunity to go to South Sudan, a developing country; where I took the time to open my own business dealing with construction, aluminum manufacturing and supply. During the period which I worked abroad, my company had the chance to work with both private and public sector (United Nations and NGO’s) giving me the ability build my skills as a team leader and be responsible with time management and completing the tasks at hand. Some characteristics that I have been required to demonstrate as a result of my background include a willingness to travel in search of opportunity, including building, managing, and selling an aluminum supply and construction operation in Juba, South Sudan. As my family relocates to the United States, it is my hope that I can return to my chosen field of study to continue my career.
