Research Experience:

ß A research on “Preparation of Ultra Low Rolling Resistance Tread compound for 2- Wheeler Tyres” was carried out in CEAT Tyres Ltd, Gujarat

-An ultra low Rolling Resistance 2W tread compound was prepared using high BR & SBR polymer system involving functionalised carbon black filler. This research involves fine tuning of rubber compound formulation using design of experiment to achieve a very low RR tread compound with an optimum grip and mileage properties within the given cost limitations.

ß A research on “Synthesis of NBR-Nano structured fly ash nano composite for semi conductor applications” was carried out in Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

-Acrylonitrile butadiene rubber-Nano fly ash nano composite was prepared with and without silane and their physical, electrical and dielectric properties were studied and compared with those of NBR-Carbon black compounds. ß A research on “Synthesis and characterization of carbon black from natural Sources” was carried out in the Department of Rubber and Plastics Technology, Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai

-This work involved the extraction of carbon black from coconut shells by burning them in a custom made furnace (prototype), optimization of the extraction process, characterization of the unique physical and chemical properties of the carbon black used as filler in a rubber polymer matrix.

ß A research on “Microwave assisted regeneration of rubber from tread rubber crumb and preparation of composites using the regenerated rubber” was carried out in the Department of Rubber and Plastics Technology, Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai.

-Reclamation of rubber was done from tread crumb using microwaves from which preparation of composites and characterisation of the same was done. Job Skills:

Working as an Assistant manager in CEAT Tyres Ltd-Research & Development- Material Development research group from May-2015 to present (1 Year 6 Months). Roles and responsibilities:

1. Material Development for Passenger Car Radial and Two Wheeler category Tyre components like Tread, Sidewall, Body Ply, Bead Filler, Apex, Belt, and Inner Liner. 2. Benchmarking competitor tyres - Performance and Material properties. 3. Improvement in Rolling Resistance and Mileage of tires through advanced material development and compounding techniques.
