Worked as Offshore Mainframe Development Team Lead for various small/mid/big size complex projects and enhancements involving batch and online changes in Insurance Domain for client John Hancock Retirement Plan Services (U.S.A.), Manulife Financial.
Major project on which I worked is Dynamic Plan Review which
aims at retaining the existing plans by dynamically offering price changes via annual review which will make sure existing clients retain their plan. This project involves developing new online screens, new batch reports/files on APOLLO including online/batch changes to existing APOLLO system.
Cobol, JCL, Netron CICS, DB2 are being used.

Interaction with onshore development lead for project activities.
Impact Analysis and Estimation.
Detail Functional Specifications and high/low level Detail Design Preparation.
Dividing and assigning project development design, coding and unit

Peer review of development deliverables, clarification of queries and guiding the offshore developers.
Support activities - Quality Assurance Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Implementation and Post Implementation support.

I was Onshore Mainframe Development Team Lead for various small/mid/big size complex projects and enhancements involving batch and online changes in Insurance Domain for client John Hancock Retirement Plan Services (U.S.A.), Manulife Financial.
Worked on major projects like pricing where new product/feature was launched in the APOLLO system and new online/batch programs/reports had to be developed, Existing online/batch programs to be re-written touching core Proposal & Contract Creation, Batch Financial Transaction processing and reporting. Other projects include online/batch changes to mainframe based tax system, launching/merging of funds in the system, accounting changes, regulatory Roth and fee disclosure changes and various other system maintenance and enhancements/complex projects.

Worked on major contract number expansion project where contract number on the system had to be expanded from 5 to 7 digits. It involved changes to online screens, batch programs, batch reports and feed files touching most of the APOLLO system and several other systems and vendors which were fed from APOLLO. Also, worked on several other projects/enhancements involving pricing, fee disclosure, regulatory changes etc. to the APOLLO system.
