Main Project: CFD analysis on exhaust manifold of a four cylinder diesel engine
There are many factors which will affect the efficiency of an IC engine. In our project we selected two factors called back pressure and exhaust velocity. Back pressure is the resistance to flow in an exhaust manifold. All engines will have its own backpressure. When this increases a particular limit it will affect the engine negatively. We tried to reduce the backpressure of a diesel engine by modifying the shape of an exhaust manifold. For this analysis we choose software called ANSYS FLUENT 14.0. First analyze the basic model of exhaust manifold and find out the pressure drop inside it. Then plotted the graph of pressure drop and exhaust velocity. Then we modified the shape by change the position of exhaust pipe from manifold to the center position and the sharp edges made curvy also the diameter of the manifold made increased. Then analysis has done on it and plotted the graphs like basic model. Then we saw that the pressure drop is less than that of basic model. And the exhaust velocity increased.
Seminar: Cold chain management using RFID for warehousing
Cold chain management is the management of perishable product like vegetables, meat, vaccines, etc. This kind of products show maintained under a particular low temperature in production, transportation and storage. For this purpose uses RFID tags for positioning and electronic equipment called iButon is used for monitor temperature variation. There will be a central computer to control the equipment. iButton will have a threshold temperature limit.When the temperature increases than the threshold limit. It will inform operator through the 1 wire interface connection in the central computer. Then he can control the temperature of the warehouse at a particular temperature.
Mini Project: Stability enhancing system for three wheelers
The stability of three wheelers is less compared to other vehicles. Then we designed a system inspired from the tilting of bikes while taking curves. It is clear that bikes will get stability while tilting during curves. This system has already adapted in tilting trikes. But in this the system is attached to the front wheels. We implement this lilting system in the rear axle of the three wheeler. And we selected independent drive for both the rear wheels. By using this tilting system on rear wheels the stability gets increased and turning radius decreased. This system can used in different terrines.
