Microsoft Pro Photo Social Media Presence
Created a thriving online social media presence integrating the Microsoft Pro Photo Blog, Twitter,
and Facebook. Increased visits to Microsoft Pro Photo website by 12% monthly to 500,000

2010 Winter Olympic Games
Invited by the Vancouver Olympic Committee to provide a technical support sponsorship of the
VANOC Photo Media Center for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games . Partnered with W indows
Home Server and Lenovo to build out the Microsoft branded photo support space in the heart of
the Media Center that served 650 international photojournalists during the 2010 Winter Olympic
Games in Vancouver.
Media Relations
W orked with Edelman Public Relations to drive awareness of all marketing efforts through long-
term synergistic relationships with all forms of traditional press and New Media including major
trade magazines, influential photo bloggers, and Social Media resources such as Twitter,
Facebook, & FriendFeed.
2005 - 2007
Technical Evangelist / Program Manager
Tasked with increasing Microsoft’s visibility and relevance in the digital imaging space and changing the
perception that photo editing is the sole provenance of Macintosh computers when, in reality, 65% of full -
time professionals use Windows based PCs in their imaging workflow.
Developed a business plan that leveraged Microsoft resources to initiate technical support, academic
outreach, workshop sponsorships, and community relationships on an international scale to build
awareness of Microsoft’s commitment and dedication to digital photography.
Microsoft Future Pro Photo Competition
Created and implemented an annual international photo competition for college and university
students. Inaugural competition greatly exceeded expectations with over 16,000 entries from 96
countries. The competition has become a widely anticipated annual event that has been
integrated into numerous university photo course syllabi.
Imagine Cup Competition
Partnered with Academic Initiatives / Developer & Platform Evangelism Division to organize and
manage the inaugural Photography Competition in the 2007 Imagine Cup. Continued refining the
competition through 2009 and broadened student participation from over 95 countries worldwide.

Fostered mutually beneficial partnerships with all of the major professional photography
associations in a successful effort to build visibility and credibility among professional

Tradeshow Program Management
Managed a comprehensive international tradeshow schedule to build awareness and drive sales
of the Microsoft Digital Imaging Workflow platform by creating compelling demos, tuto rials, and
innovative customer engagement. Challenges included mitigating local laws, unions, and travel
logistics. Success was measured by the overwhelming response and interest in the Microsoft
digital imaging product line.
Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging 2002-2005
Los Osos, CA
Digital Manager / Instructor
Collaborated with noted outdoor and wildlife photographer George Lepp to conceptualize,
create, and produce a yearly schedule of digital photography workshops and seminars at the
Lepp Institute facility in Los Osos, CA.
In four years the curriculum expanded from 10-12 events a year in its beginning, to over 25
events a year in a new state-of-the art educational facility that served over 500 students a year.
Duties included marketing, planning, and presenting workshops with curriculum that included
macro, portrait, wildlife, and landscape photography and digital workflow strategies using Adobe
Lightroom and Photoshop.
Field workshops around the US and guest instructors were also part of the program, which
required significant amounts of planning, logistics, and timely execution.
