OBJECTIVE

To obtain a position in the field of mechanical engineering utilizing my technical, managerial and intellectual abilities.

EDUCATION

The University of Michigan-Dearborn

Master of Science Expected: April, 2015

Major: Mechanical Engineering CGPA: 3.7/4

Honor: Graduate student scholarship at University of Michigan-Dearborn

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, India

Bachelor of Technology Completed: May, 2013

Major: Mechanical Engineering Aggregate: 85/100

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Certified in design software ‘Solid works’ by EduCADD Educational systems.

Designing experience with Solid works, MATLAB Simulink, AutoCAD.

Proficient in Windows-based operating systems, Microsoft Office and basics of C and C++.

WORK EXPERIENCE

South Central Railways Limited (SCRL) – Hyderabad 09/10 - 10/10

Completed a project on braking systems in South Central Railways, Hyderabad which explains us about the

retarding motion of trains by various methods like air brakes and vacuum brakes.

A detailed report was also presented on type of materials that can be used in the manufacturing of brake shoes.

Was the leader of the batch of 4 people and responsible for completing the project on time and in preparing the report.

Veera Precicast Private Limited (VPPL) – Hyderabad 06/11 - 07/11

Completed project and presented report on Casting and Molding of Hi Chrome, Ni Hard, Graded Cast Iron in VEERA

PRECICAST PVT LTD.

An SG Iron product and Ni-Hard product were created by undergoing through various processes in mold making,

metal melting, metal pouring, heat treatment, sand blasting and finally testin g were done using Universal and Impact

testing machine.

Two observations were made. In both the observations the composition of end product were recorded and this matched

with the optimum value of composition.

UNDER-GRADUATION PROJECT

Final year project (Bachelor of Technology) in “Design and Testing of Square Cyclone Separator”: A square cyclone is a

stationary mechanical device that utilizes centrifugal force to separate solid or liquid particles from a carrier gas. The study was

carried out with a three-fold objective. The first two being determining the most significant factors affecting the cyclone

performance based on statistical analysis and to study each parameter individually to obtain more details about their effect on

the flow field pattern and the performance. Finally it aims to obtain the most efficient cyclone design for best performance

(minimum pressure drop and minimum cut-off diameter).

COURSEWORK AT UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN-DEARBORN

Vehicle Thermal Management Advanced Fluid Mechanics

Advanced Engineering Materials Advanced Engineering Analysis

Sustainable Energy Systems Matrix Computation

PROJECTS AT UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN-DEARBORN

Vehicle Thermal Management: Studied and presented on topic “Exhaust Waste Heat Recovery for power

generation using Rankine Cycle”. The purpose of the project was to show how the principle of Rankine cycle as a

recovery method can be used to extract power from the exhaust gases of an engine. The line diagram on how this

method works was first shown in Matlab Simulink and later presented in report. Exhaust gases immediately leaving

the engine can have temperatures as high as 752-1022 F [400-550 C]. This heat can be utilized to change phase of the

fluid in the heat exchanger and generate power using a turbine coupled to a generator. This will also help reduce the

operating costs of the vehicle.

Advanced Engineering Materials: Studied and presented a report on “Advanced materials used in Spark Plug”. In

this report the construction of spark plug and design requirements for each part were discussed in detail. The main

components of a spark plug include the center electrode, ground electrode and insulation. A sparkplug was first

designed and analyzed for stress behavior using Solid works, then material selection process, manufacturing process

and performance of each of these components were studied and discussed. A new design approach was also mentioned

in the report with the use of advanced engineering materials and also the benefits obtained from this new design

approach were substantiated towards the end.

Sustainable Energy Systems: Developed a case study and presented report on “Ocean Wave Energy Conversi on

using Oscillating Water Column”. The report summarizes use of oscillation water column (OWC) for converting wave

energy into electricity. It gives the annual wave energy distribution around the globe and total power available in it

along with criteria for its site selection. The case study for On-Shore OWC - Land Install Marine Power Energy

Transformer (LIMPET) near the cost of Islay, Scotland was considered. It’s Construction, Plant Specification, Plant

Operation, Levelized Cost, And Power Distribution were discussed.

WORKSHOPS

Attended workshop and completed building “RADIO CONTROLLED AIRCRAFT” at TECHKRITI 2K13 in IIT

Kanpur. (February, 2013)

Attended MATLAB and ANYSIS workshops conducted at Mechanica 2k12 in IIT-Madras. (July,2012)

Attended workshop conducted by Dr.V.Ganesan, Professor Emeritus, IIT Madras on “Horse power”. (October, 2011)

Attended Dream Spark Yatra workshop conducted by MICROSOFT.(March,2011 & 2012)
