Personal Statement

After leaving school I earned an engineering apprenticeship doing mechanical

engineering and tasks such as centerless grinding, lap grinding, cnc lathe, bore

grinding and inspection. I carried this out with Slack and Parr LTD. During this

time I learned all basic engineering practices, precision engineering and all that is

involved in making a textile pump.

At 19 years old I decided to join the Royal Navy, motivated by the opportunity of

world class engineering training as an Air Engineering Technician. I was excited

by the challenge of working over-seas in a role in which I could make a real

difference. Whilst working on postings to Afghanistan, Northern Norway and the

U.S.A I learned how to work under pressure in environments where quality of

work and attention to detail are crucial. I also developed a strong sence of team

importance while developing my self strength and technical skills.

Whilst with the Royal Navy I was recognised for my tour of afghanistan and 4

years of excellent conduct. For this, I was given a special commendation in a

bulletin for detecting an aircraft fuel leak with the potential to cause an engine fire

and possible downing of the aircraft.

For personaI reasons, I made the decision to leave the Royal Navy and began

working for Pepsico in Beaumont Leys, Leicester as an Manufacturing

Technician. Here I have learnt man management skills, K.P.Is, 5 S and many

other engineering and manufacturing processes.

I am now looking for an opportunity to expand my knowledge and to challenge

myself further. I am a hard working individual, I take pride in what I do motivated

by being able to contribute to the team. Self responsible, with an excellent

attendance record and time keeping. I actively seek new challenges and take

personal responsibility to learn new skills and competencies.
