Tools

Operating Systems : Windows XP/Vista/7, Unix/Linux

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

LABVIEW Internship at National Instruments Corp Mar’11-Jun’11

Enhancement of Robotics Starter kit in detecting obstacles and avoidance of collisions.

Implemented using additional sensors, change in algorithm for autonomous movement.

Worked on the Robotics and FPGA module, to introduce new changes.

MATLAB internship at Larsen & Toubro Limited - Embedded Systems & Software Jun’08-Dec’08

Derived concepts involved in LDWS (Automotive Lane Departure Warning System).

Developed algorithms and verified using Hough transform, image analysis and filters using MATLAB-Simulink.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Phase-mapping of videos to enhance performance on embedded systems (Perl) Jun’13-present

Analyzing scene complexities of movies, phase-mapping them and analyzing its effect on cache configurations .

Video outputs analysis on MediaBench benchmark and simulation on gem5 using ARM system.

Scripts for running benchmarks and output parsing are developed with Perl.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Controlling of iRobot on basis of GPS co-ordinates (Android SDK/Java).

Designed and controlled movements of the iRobot to transport articles between places.

Implemented on the Android SDK platform, using built-in Java libraries and functions.

GPS co-ordinates are employed for measurement of directions and distance.

Data Structure Implementation (C++/Eclipse CDT)

Developed the Min Leftist tree and Fibonacci Heap data structures and implemented different operations on these

data structures while also calculating and comparing the running time for them.

Fault tolerant Distributed File System with FUSE (Python)

A fault redundancy technique (TMR) was used to manage errors like corrupted response, compromised key and

server timeouts in the backend unreliable servers.

Corrupted response and server timeouts were handled by duplicating the data onto various servers and retries

respectively whereas unique keys were used to prevent the key from getting damaged.

Enhancement of cache (L1 and L2) using SimpleScalar (C/C++)

Implemented and Optimized L1 and L2 cache hit rates, with decreased miss time.

Executed using programmable decoders and modified LRU schemes.

Cryptography + Steganography (MATLAB)

Developed a live system that helped more than two individual organizations to simultaneously transmit desired

information over a secure medium (channel) without the fear of third party hacking or damage.

Implemented on the platform of MATLAB, with extensive use of Microsoft Excel sheets for analysis and design of

algorithms.
