Built the air filter aging model using Lattice Boltzmann Simulation in C++, which indicates the right time to replace air filter based on flow velocity under residential environment. Constucted a wireless monitor device to detect flow velocity after air filter, consisting of flow velocity sensor, PCB board, WiFi module and websever.

Designed and built a lab testing device to simulate air flow and the isolated environment in furnace, which could also test the accurcy of the monitor device.

Used Arduino programming for PCB board and WiFi module and designed a circuit to connect all components to experiment the data transmission from sensor to websever.

Built a prototype of application in smart phones by Android Studio, gaining the data from webserver and determining the time to send the notification of replacement of air filter. This system could notice users to change their air filter in time and reduce energy consumption.

The final report summarized the implementation status of classification and pointed out the aging phenomenon in the countryside, indicating the needs of a simple guide of classification.
